I am not a body man by any stretch but looking at the metal work around the headlights how much filler do you suppose is in that thing?
A lot of work went into that, but I have to say...I can't decide which is worse; the 200 gallons of spider webbing or the tribal flames, a la Wal-Mart. My own opinion would be to paint the think in some cl***y, fogged kandy and pearl colors (think D'Agostino) or maybe just shiny black with subtle striping in a deep emerald green or something. All in all, it's a cool car. Just not too hip on the paint schemes above.
jeeze... look at the front end before lead work. that used to run around the Bay Area in tan primer. I like round headlights myself.
yea it looks pretty wicked, fyi and im sure its come up before but it was in outkast's "roses" video. anyway back to the garage
Ya know, that car has been around for years...and I wonder how many of the above "posters" just crawled out from under rocks or woke up and smelled the roses...maybe they are all "youngsters" that are now "hot rodders"...??? One would think they've never opened a magazine, checked out the internet or bought videos...it amazes me how any "hot rodders" can NOT stay on top of "car" things... Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think so... R-
Actually I have seen that car in the past, however i havent seen it featured in any magazines. Furthermore be a "youngster" or "greybeard" I call myself a hot rodder because I enjoy building cars and working on them, not reading magazines to "keep up on trends"
custom cars and hot rods are two diffrent beasts all together... Like for me I love hot rods but couldn't give a **** about a custom car, just not my thing.
And some guys just haven't seen every magazine known to man and some are busy working for a living and raising a family. They don't have time or money to read every mag out there. They can't sit for hours on the internet and search for cars they've never heard of. I may have seen that car around in the pages, but with a billion cars out there, it's hard to remember all of them. I've been around hot rodding since I was knee-high to a torque wrench, but I'm still learning new things at 45 years old. I guess some people have seen every kustom in the world, talked too every builder, painted every color under the sun, built every ch***is for every vehicle in existence and turned a wrench on every engine known to man, but not all of us. Lighten up on guys that don't know as much as you. You may need their help lifting a body off a frame some day. Sorry, but it kind of steams me when I hear the older, wiser, omnipotent, consummate "know-it-all" and "I'm better than you" guys who are self-important "hot rodders" tear into the *** of guys who haven't been exposed to everything in the world yet. Letting the young guys know that everything they say will be ridiculed is a really good way to keep those guys from wanting to get into this hobby. Sorry. had to rant. Peace.
I'll give you a hearty AMEN and second that motion! I go to this site to read, LOOK, and learn, not to be shot down because I like something that someone else doesn't. Lighten up, I thought we were having FUN here!!
Googled and came up with this... 1966.. possibly same type headlights where used in the years around that time.
OK. Thanx...guess I can't be correct all the time, eh...besides, people sure are testy these days, aren't they...??? Where would we be without p***ion & conviction...??? R-
