Flaked dash looks GREAT BARNETT!!! WHEN I get me a project I plan on flakin' the dash. I love that look.
I think your van would look EXACTLY like an ol' Hotwheels if you found some old Keystone wheels for it. Redlines definitely. [IMG]

    Holy cow!
I didn't know you wanted CRAGAR's for your van. OH HELL yeah. I thought you were cool before, but now I know you have taste. Cragar's RULE.

....oh yeah. The flake looks good too. [IMG]

Now get them Cragars on it.

this is fellow DEABEATS member, Jeff Shea's ride. He's a striper and tattoo artist. [IMG] His other ride is a shorty Econo van.

And yes...Keystones WOULD be cool! I looked for those when I first got the van...nothing was available. It's all about timing, I guess.

Actually BARNETT, I think Crager is remaking the old Keystone Klassics. You NEED 'em. [IMG] [IMG]

    Barnett,
Nahh, I think I'm gonna hang onto them. I may get tired of the white steelies I have on the back of the Fairlane......plus I have another project in the works.

I got my Cragars from JEG's. When I bought them, they were like $107 each and Jeg's has free shipping.
I think it worked out to be something like $450 to my door, and I got them in 2 days. I'd buy new if I were you. I don't know, but I've personally never seen a nice set of used Cragars. Most of the time they are flaked pretty bad where the centers meet the steel outer rim.

You need to do the van like Hatch did that Falcon he had when he was a kid....
I'm gonna try to find a pic.....

  10. I remember scrounging the cash, when I was 16, to buy Cragars for my little '74 MustangII...the Cragars were about $50 or $60 each in '82, if I remember right. [IMG]

    Here's the pic....
I stole it offa here a while back. Its a cool pic.
I was wrong though, he's only got cragars on the front. Its still cool though.

    Wow, $50 in '82
Better get them now, before you're paying $300 a pop for one. [IMG] [IMG]

Personally, I think I'm gonna try and get a pair those cool sandals.

  12. Why does everyone have to knock the sandals? [IMG]

That flake is cool too. I'm gonna try and get my hands on some. I think the Gasser'lane has been needing some flake.

  27. Hey Dan that added color on the inside looks great. Like you said a big improvement for not so much cash outlay.

Nice job Dan! Flake for air brush? Damn, I wish they had that a couple years ago when I did my flamed fish. All I could find was pearls.

  30. Thanks again everyone.

Django, It'll work thru the airbrush, but you need a big tip/needle. I used an HVLP touch up gun for this. It comes in 4 oz. bottles, locally, or it can be ordered in pts. and qts. (I believe) The cool thing is that it's compatable with ANY clear...from cheapo household clear all the way up to HOK.
