    Edelbroke's right on!

If the Auburn dudes don't want it...

Use the Rear/Back Window and cowl and fill the rest with wood...
Make it a really Long/Low full fendered Woody Surf Wagon with that cool Auburn "flathead" engine (supercharged on the side)
Low wooden benches / Bench seats.

Throw some long boards on the roof!...Cowabunga!

I don't know a lot about Auburns, but I bet some of those parts are worth good money to some restorer. Looks like the engine and trans are there and someone, somewhere is looking for those to get theirs running.

If you play it smart I would think you could come out of this with a nice profit to put toward something you really like. Just do some internet researching to find out exactly what is what.

Its one of those things where every one thinks its worth so much and how dare you crush it. I bet if you advertised the whole pile forsale for 500 it would never sell. Then after you s**** it everyone says how much the stuff was worth and how much they would of gave you for it.

Clearly you know nothing about Auburns.

That seems to be the best plan. Sell the parts to someone who can use them for a restoration.

I see nobody has suggested going into the funeral home business with it. Not that I will either. Either way a restoration or hot rod could be great. If it would bring a lot to a restorer, I'd go that route and then get something else.

If you can afford it, buy it! Then resell it to and Auburn club member for restoration and use your profits to build a real hotrod.

  10. FWIW, the guy I used to work with had a '32 Packard there was less of than this - it had been cut down to power a sawmill, with a belt drive drum on the driveshaft, so you had half a frame, the cowl, hood, grille, engine, trans, most of the dash, and that was about it.

He sold it to a guy for like $1500 cash plus some antique toys that brought the value to around $3000-$3500.

But it takes time and a good internet ad, like a good-till-cancelled listing on eBay, a buyer is not going to jump up overnight for something like this. Auburn parts don't grow on trees and no one is reproducing the stuff; you'd be nuts to s**** it.

My book says a parts car Auburn this era runs $1500-$2500 depending on model and body style. That it was a he**** probably puts you on the upper end of the scale.

It dosen't look like it was running when parked!

Pour about 5 gal. of POR on it and it will look like new.

It could be that some of the missing body was wood. I knew a guy that had a 1936 LaSalle he**** that had beautifully carved wood sides. It made a great last ride. I don't know what happened to it after he died though.

Super rare, as propwash says, the parts should be highly desired by the hard core collectors. Good Luck ~sololobo~

Think it would be fun to try to get it running, how often to you get to work on one?

Hate to ask... before you go dig it up this find... umm is it yours?
I would get the owners permission and bill of sale before touching or removing anything.

Hate to see a thread come up that says stolen from my family farm or the DMV ***le blues.

While you are there grabbing that Auburn you might want to look at what appears to be a Willys Aero . They are getting hard to find. I would ****** it up, if for no other reason, for the parts.

It may not be a he****. Some companies that did high end trade would have a delivery vehichle to make the rounds. E.g. Florist I would go on the A-C-D site(s) and do an add. I can see the beauty of restorations as well as rods/customs. I believe that an Aurburn should be restored or at the very least resto-rodded. Some poor ****** may have been waiting a long time to get access to parts you have.

Seems to me like someone is using us to trump up their sale.

......he's doing exactly what everyone here told him to do. Do right by it; find it a home with someone who can afford to bring it back to life. super rare car; would love to see it on the road again :)
