Do any of you have any pictures of complete stock cars or hot rods? I scored a 1930 Willys four door sedan at the Portland swap. I got just the cowl, with front doors and windshield, on perfect A pillars. I am so stoked how fricken clean this thing is. I got it with the rear half of a shot up model T touring allong with the stock Willys front fenders and a****s on perfect hood with sides. I am using this to make a modified rod and I think I got a good start for $200. I'm selling the left front fender but if someone in Seattle wants the other fender they can come and get her for free. Same thing goes for the Model T rear section. I hate trashing stuff like this. Later!
I saw one similar year on Ebay pretty cheap recently, it might still be there, from memory was a coupe and decent looking with a good price too.
Hey man, nice score. Looks like it could be a good start to me..... Now, before you embarrass yourself any further.....They are called Willys...W-I-L-L-Y-S. Always with an "S" ....Never Willy. Also, if you are talking about them in front of an old timer, or some Willys nut....The word is pronounced WILLIS..... as in "iiiss" Not "eees".... Dig? cool find. Good luck.
Hey...I didn't know that about the "WILLIS" pronunciation!!! ...and I argued the point with one of my old high school English teachers for like 15 minutes, too! I wrote a bunch of funny, car related sentences for an****ignment, and...as usual...he elected to read MY paper out loud to the class as a source of amusement! When he said "Willis coupe", I corrected him by saying "It's WILLYS". He countered with "That's how it's spelled, but the correct pronunciation is "Willis"!!" We argued and bickered over it to the delight of the class, and I was sure that old coot couldn't POSSIBLY know what the Hell he was talking about...he had to be a million years old if he was a DAY!!! Damn...you mean he was RIGHT????
Thanks for the correction, I dont know what I was thinking. I think the sun realy cooked my head at the swap on Sat or it may be the fact I've been thinking with something else since the****ty bars Fri night.
[ QUOTE ] maybe you can sell the round cannister[vacuum fuel pump]off the firewall to a "RestO-boy"?????? [/ QUOTE ] Pay attention to Choprods. It looks like the vaccum canister/fuel pump on my 1926 Dodge woodie
[ QUOTE ] Hey Fat Hack, The grill shell is a 35 Chev. that I'm using on my Model A. [/ QUOTE ] Cool...I always though Chevy and Pontiac grilles and shells of the 20s and 30s looked better than Fords...good idea sticking one on an A-bone!!
Another, the first one I lowered with Photoshop to see how it would look. This is how is actually sat.
Hey Motormaniac, I hope I didn't piss you off or anything. My HAMB name used to be "Bad ol' Willys".......(and I always pronounced it Willeeeees) The old fella I bought my Willys abortion off of called it a WILLIS....I thought it was odd, but didn't say anything. Later I looked up some history on the Willys and found where the correct pronounciation is Willis.... Yeah, I'm a nerd.
