Got to many projects, willing to let this one go.

  3. Besides the wagon hes got a 35 chevy 4dr sedan, a 59 ranchero, 65 bonneville vert, 65 comet 4 dr sedan, 51 or 52 lincoln cosmopolitain 4 dr (last registered in 56!!!!), 58 apache, 63 chevy longbed, a 65 chevelle 2 dr ht, a 65 2 dr impala original 327 car, and a shipping container I opened that had a complete 67 chevelle vert that had been completely blown apart, the chevelle was surrounded with 30s to 40s sheetmetal, and there were more 68-69 chevelle front fenders than you could count!!!!

Oh and O.Hove, if youve still got yours by the time I get this one Ill hit you up for parts

Wagons are far cooler than a Rancharoo...Mopars are more desirable than fords (oh man, that's gonna get me for sure...!!!) nearly everyone has one of those...!!!

  12. Youd have to paint it "Christine Crimson"!!!! And make some fake fury side trim out of vinal. Go to your local sign shop, they can fake aluminum trim or diamond plate these days Then wire the headlights to a motion sensor so that they pop on when people walk by!!!!!
    How cool would that be?!?!?!?!

Just my 2 cents, but it's Mopar or No Car.
A ranchero would be cool, but from the sound of it, this could be on the road sooner, and your chances of getting lucky are better in the back of a wagon than a truck!:D

Seriously, that wagon is cool as hell! Don't get me wrong, Ranchero's are slick too, but a 57 Plymouth 2 DOOR wagon!?!?!....
Man, it wouldn't take me long to make that choice :)

  21. Look over the frame good, I've seen wierd rot in these - the usual stuff in the kickup area both ahead and behind the rear axle is a common rust spot, but they can also rust out behind the front springs on the rails there. And my '57 Dodge 2dr Suburban wagon the rear 18" or so of the frame is shot, another common rust area, but this area is pretty easy to fix if you can scare up the right size C channel or box tube - it's straight with square corners on the rear crossmember.

I wish my '57 wasn't so rotty, the entire front floor and rockers are shot, but it was a $200 save from the crusher that was a nearly stone complete car full of old parts and I sold one carb out of it for $140 alone. That doesn't even count the Stromberg 97 I found in it and bought a box of parts before I bought this car, too (I bought a box of carbs and a '58 Buick 364 4bbl intake and carb for $100 that day). If nothing else it makes a good looking storage unit. I don't think anyone touched it after about 1972 (it was parked in like '67).

Someone does make some repop panels for these if you do end up needing them, I think lower quarters and floorpans can be had. Rockers too.

The tailgate glass should be the same for all 57-59 Mopar wagons.

  22. Well the body itself just has some surfae and two very small bubbles behind the passenger side rear wheel... Im hoping for no frame rot. That would be a definite deal breaker. Thanks for the info on the hatch glass. WOW a two star rating..... tough crowd!!!!

  23. I wouldn't let a little frame rot scare you, just be aware of it and plan to repair it should you find it. Guys chop tops and things all the time, I don't know why it's a big deal to replace a section of frame rail. You don't even have to finish the welds off as nice if you don't want to, who's going to see them?

It does look fairly solid. Look it over closely. Make sure the tailgate isn't rusted in place. Make sure it has front and rear floors. Like rustynewyorker mentioned, look the frame over closely both in front of, and behind, the leaf springs. I had to do a repair on the frame of my car.

Still, I gotta say that's a lot of money for a car with no glass, (and presumably) no interior, not running and needing everything including brakes. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but I would talk him down on the price. It's a big project and you will need the cash. And for the record, a floorless Ranchero sounds worse. :D

  26. he said go get it !

  27. The floors are there and as solid as i can tell.... the interior is also there and original.... but the door panels are curled, weathered and as hard as a rock..... the doors are also locked I believe because I wasnt able to open them after I shut it the first time I saw it :( But believe me, besides the glass the car is complete.
