I got a print in a automotive art gallery and it made me sad

So I found out they had a transportation themed show at the art car museum here in Houston. I entered a 4foot wide print of Jakes 54 in the show, and it got a great spot right as you enter the gallery.
Then when you walk through the gallery its full of art work depicting how evil cars are and how they destroy the enviroment.

I was hoping for it to be a good natured automotive show instead of a political statement but I guess I learned not all automotive art galleries are created equal lol

That's too bad, your work is amazing. Any chance of organizing a show to show how cool cars can be? :D Muwahahahaha

Congratulations man! Take it with a grain of salt. The environment nazis fail to acknowledge the personal freedom granted by the automobile and the prosperity they enjoy from industrialized society. No person, place, or thing is all good or all evil. Do a donut in the parking lot.

Though these artists burn thousands of gallons of gas frivolously in the annual Art Car Parades, the car is the enemy, the destroyer of all we know and love, the evil invention which has doomed the world to either warming or cooling whichever it is this year.
Don't sweat it, their museum is probably paid for by your tax dollars.

Please post what you showed for all to see! Your work on your site is killer! You should contact, Hotrodders Against the Environmentalists. Have them protest the exhibit.

With a cool car like that among the trash, you might just cause a few to see the light. We can only hope.

The environmental movement is a joke. They have no actual proof of global warming, and refuse to debate anyone with a different point of view on it. It just a shame that it has to spill over onto what we live and enjoy.
Yeah, cash for clunkers how'd that work. Dealers are still waiting to get paid.

Boy that sucks... I think waltzing in there very publicly with some friends and removing your print from the wall, leaving a big gaping hole where it used to be, would be an excellent illustration of how big an impact automobiles are, how old domestic tin is disappearing to China, how some people really do care and with them not around there is really nothing beautiful to behold but mass produced unimaginative crumple zoned pieces of plastic dookie ... or some other artsy-fartsy bullshit statement. Make a performance piece out of it by removing your art, and if anyone asks, tell them you were falsely represented by the organizers. Do it.

You have to ask yourself, how many of those people drove cars to the art gallery? And how many of so the called "artists or photographers" drove cars to the gallery to drop off their work? I've come to believe that 99% of the environmentalists as they call themselves, are hypocrites. Does Al Gore take public transportation? I think not.

OK, Im off my soapbox now.

How about when another open entry show like this comes up, we flood it with HAMB-friendly art submissions?

Aerochicken.... beautiful image. It probably might make a few anti-cars folks change their minds! As a forty year artist I'm a little surprised it wasn't made clear to you the over all theme of the exhibition. It is usually clearly stated and usually becomes part of the criteria for acceptance of work. Anyway, I've been in several exhibitions that I wasn't all that fond of but it will fade into the past and you'll forget all about it, at least your work is hanging in a museum and hopefully hundreds of people will see it!......;)

i don't get it. It was some sort of car exhibit to protest cars? Next thing you know the gun-ban crowd will be holding gun shows.

I like how they used your art to get them into the gallery (it was right up front right?) then blast ya with propaganda. I'm all for being environmentally responsible, but really?

Batteries and electronics are highly toxic. So we switch to electric cars and in 100 years a new crop of people will be bitching about that.

As you stated, you got a great spot for your artwork, right at the entrance...that's neat, sounds like they like your work, too.
As far as the suggestion that you should take your art and go home, well, now isn't that like a little kid taking his ball and going home?
Art is based on free expression and free speech...kind of what we stand for, right?
You express your "vision" and others get their chance, too. That's what its a about.
Some idiot took a jackhammer to the concrete floor at a museum in L.A. about 20 years ago. He then dug a hole in the dirt that was under the concrete...went down about six feet and then threw a ladder in the hole.
AND then he called it "art".
Well, I called it a big stupidass hole with a ladder in it.
That kind of crap just angers or confuses me, because, I guess anyone can do anything and then call it "art". I guess so....
So, be proud of your artwork, leave it right there, and let others have a voice, too.
Be proud that your art speaks for itself and that you don't have to inject political mumbo-jumbo into it to make it stand out.
You done good....enjoy the moment! :)
