I've been on here looking foolish (feel's that way) because I've been referring to a 32 I'm working on as a Model A at times. Give me the 411 between the two real fast and basic please.

'32; best looking car man ever made. Model A, a close second.

Hope so. It took me 35 years to even touch a Ford. I feel like I'm on a first date.

Gas tank location, sun visor or not, windshield angle(if any), grill shell, B pillar door overlap or not, there are tons of small details the seperate the two. images.jpg 1932-ford-models-b-and-18-8.jpg

Model A:1928-1931 four cylinder only, 103 1/2 wheelbase, frame is flat on top front to rear, fuel tank is in the cowl.
'32 whether model B or V-8: 106 wheelbase, frame is swaybacked from cowl to just in front of the rear kickup which is radiused above the rear axle, fuel tank is between rear of body and in front of rear bumper. This is a very rudimentary description of the differences. There are many others.

Model A was made for 4 years. '32 Ford was made for less then a year.

'32 is the first of the streamline era cars. No visor, no longer did Ford build carriages.

  21. If you don't know what you got there's nothing I can do to help ya.

easiest way to figure it out is with your wallet, complete rolling Model A worth anywhere from 2K to 10K, rusted out old hulk of a deuce body worth 20K+

  22. If you can see the windshield headers you can spot the difference from very far across the parking lot.

Most of the general public will tell its a dune buggy, a rat rod, or a roadster no matter what it is

  26. Non of them look worth anything if you build a shit box out of them. my preference is a model 40 over a deuce, but any of the above mentioned can be made into a nice ride, I don't think they look better so much as different.

Bingo. We are building hot rods, a cool, well-executed, well thought out fat fender will trump a poorly thought out, "1-800-me too" '32 roadster every time. The raw material is secondary to the vision and execution.

I disagree with that in a minor way. Ford did the slant window 31's that had no visor and were the same windshield height as the 32. My take on it is the streamlining started with the 31 A slant windows.
