I got my A-V8 done... Check it out!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by loudpedal, Aug 28, 2006.

  1. Beautiful work, and I'm blown away by the turnaround. That's gotta be some kind of record for a car this nice.

I was wondering about the steering wheel position, too... are your knees far enough in behind that you can get your feet on the clutch and brake easily? My '28 is smaller, but I had a helluva time sorting that all out.

The splash aprons are killer. I'm surprised we don't see more of that, you may have started something. Did you have to reinforce them to keep 'em from flapping?

Again, beautiful car. Thanks for the posts and photos.

  2. Absolutelyfuckinggorgeous!

I like the splash aprons! Mui-traditional!

    Beautiful!!!

I've always liked the slash aprons left on an A frame, there are only a couple of cars around I've seen with 'em today.

I was looking at this car on the salt, very nicely detailed
    motor. Love the distributor.

and nice paint job, though I really liked the yellow version as well.

I really need to find that road draft tube set up.
I was considering making one, but you seem to have the
same one I have seen on another car, that car owner said
he bought it at la roadster show.

did you buy it ? and where can I get one?

    thanks

Thanks to Max Musgrove (Uncle Max on the HAMB) who took my old dilapidated carbs and made them look and work like new!

  9. Nicely thought out. Looks like you had a lot of it planned and the people ready to go on it. That's the way to attack something like this. Came out great.

Excellent, sickest looking build on here since the ROLF coupe. I didn't think the r-b aprons would look good, but it all turned out awesome. I love the look!! Great job.

I've got plenty of room for my legs and the car is very comfortable to drive. My seat is down and back from stock... that's where all of the room comes from.

Yes, I made braces front and rear on the aprons that tie in to the frame.

I found the draft tube set up on an old flathead that someone gave to me. It was real crusty, but a trip to the hot tank fixed that!

Very nice car. I live in Clinton and was wondering if the throttler's meet up some place. I'd like to meet you guys, I'm fairly new to the area but I have seen you guys at a couple car show's around here. I think the last time I saw some of your cars was at the Clinton county fair. Keep up the good work -Zipp
