what i mean is ...I took his pinstriping class yesterday and it was awesome. Nash from Burnout magazine translated for me while Mr.G (an amazing "one-shot" Japanese artist and very talented pinstriper) gave his 3 hour art lesson. The time flew by while i learned alot about materials, preparation, technique, execution and also ...clean-up:) Myself being a beginner in this field of kustom kulture art, i felt like a little kid in art clss in high school again and it was a really cool time.

I sure have gained deep appreciation for pin-striping, for how difficult it is to do, i know it takes many, many years to get good at this artistic skill. It was sure an honor for me to be able to attend Mr G's class on my trip here to Japan, while he was very informative, the pinstriping lesson moved along very quickly. It was also a very "inspiring" experience for me, which i'm very thankful for, as it was for the other 11 students who attended the lesson.

If you not familiar with Mr. G's artwork, here's his website: http://mr-gkrazyart.com/gallery.html

    Here's some pics from yesterday...

The art lesson was held at a cool 50's diner called the "Guggenheim Mafia" and this is where Mr.G, Makoto, Grimb and my art show will be today. Here's the link to the show- ( http://www.kustomkulture.jp/news/ )

Pulling some lines fellas. Watch out Skratch!

Two hours into the lesson and we are seeing some progress, Mr.G giving some pointers.

One happy student ...Evel, i think i'm ready to pinstripe your hot rod, just let me know when you want me to start:)

You get to do some real " FUN " things.

One question if I may ask?
Did the instructor speak English or do you speak Japanese ??

    :)

I couldn't imagine a better way to spend time in Japan than hanging with Nash and learning from Mr. G.

    Cheers!

  14. I have been striping for fifty years and I am impressed. That is a good looking panel and I'd say you are a natural.

  15. Very cool Cab,2 hours and you wound up with that. I am taking a 6 week striping course in Detroit hosted by an old timer by the name of Gibb. I play with the mack and want to get better so when I paint my car I can stipe it myself.

I'll have to agree, that's not bad for first time outta the box. You will be now known as ...."Mr. Natural" from now on! :D;)

Steve, send me your snail mail address. I have my striping brushes packed and I'm sending the darn things to YOU!!! Well done. Also, PLEASE shake Nash's hand for me. He hooked me up with my Burnout collection last year. Great guy....

  21. I regret I would have enjoyed going to the show much more than what I already had planned for this past Sunday... I just realized the site for the "class" was not too far from where I am living now... Next time for sure..

  29. Damn dude you are a natural...does that mean Robert Redford needs to learn to ride rails before he plays you in the movie version...crazy talent and what an awesome experience that must have been...I need to learn how to load up a brush and pull some lines...what's it feel like being a renaissance man?
