It's tough going straight from a killer-blast weekend at the DotD to a ****py ol' work week under ****py ol' cloudy weather. The coupe sprung a leak on the way home from Austin, so while the radiator is off getting rebuilt I'm changing head and intake gaskets - if I can't drive it I might as well work on it.

    Still a bummer, though.

  3. 62buford, I feel your pain! You will be back on the road in no time.

Root, The Fly still looked cool as hell going down the track. I know you'll get it figured out before next year.

Now both you guys get back in the garage and go to work!

    Painful indeed!

Pullin mine apart too. The rear main seal has been leaking, figure I might as well fix it. While Im doin that, I could really use a cam. But is a cam really any good if you don't have really sweet heads? Nah! Of course, I'll be unbolting the manifolds to replace the heads.........might as well get some lakes headers..........and with all that power, Im gonna need some slicks..........Guess I'll just do the seal for now.

I'm still smiling, the A is still rolling, and next years drag car is in progress. Heck I'm ready to start talking trash with you Crease. I'm not finished with you yet. You won this time.
Projects keep the shifter stiff! Can't wait for next year.

CREASE - I bet BUZZARD could give you some advice on 'quick' head and cam swaps... "Should just take a day or two.. what's the worst that could happen..?" (Just kiddin' Steve!)

SMITTY - I thought so, too. Joyce just snapped 2-3 pics so I didn't even check the camera 'til tonight - I like this one. Looks like Charlie is just pulling away from me! Also, I would be out workin' in the garage but Pee Wee is on HBO... "I say we let 'im go... NOOOO!" [IMG]

ROOTWAWG - you'll get 'er figgered out. I know you were disappointed but, like others have already said, it was still a blast watching The Fly run down the track... especially that squirrly burnout! [IMG]

You know what happened on that?
I aired one tire up to stretch it.....the right slick was smaller....so I bumped it up to 35 lbs for the trip down. The other one had 6 in it. I forgot to let it back down even.........oops.

62B...if it will help ya feel any better, I'll "let" ya buy us beer all night at the CC......

  19. Hey Buzzard, the Barons were the only club that would take me. The Kontientals said I talked funny, and the Gear Grinders said I dressed funny. I'm gad I fit in somewhere?

    Thanks.

30R - thanks, and good talking to you, too. Things were actually looking up for me until I hit O'Reilly after work tonight... the head gaskets I ordered on Friday not only didn't come in, but the guys behind the counter are trying to tell me they don't exist. Arrrgh! [IMG]

Now I'm so pissed that the only thing keeping a loaded gun out of my mouth is the possibility that I may get to buy beers for JOHNNY and KALI in a few weeks. God bless you, JOHNNY... you're a giver!

Yep it's official, the Sandman is a Baron.

He's doubled the number of club cars. Heck, some of them even run!

He holds a record at Muroc. Let's see now...all total the Barons now hold...hmmmmm......1 record at Muroc.

On top of that, he's one of the coolest cats I've ever met.
