    got most of the parts today.
    i'll see if everything fits tomorrow.
    i don't like the shoulder on the threaded/tapered part.
    i don't know what it's for and i don't need it there.
    i might have to grind it off, it it doesn't let the tapered part seat.

    starting from the top, there is a locking nut.
    then the threaded portion.
    then the tapered part starts.
    then there is the permanent shoulder thingy that is cast into the piece. i guess i was hoping it was removable. it must be necessary for the "Pinto" style suspensions.
    i don't need it. my original style tierods (that i am replacing) don't have these.
    the tapered part just tapers and seats into the steering arm
