I'm in the process of making a trade for this Chevrolet inline 6. Has 3 deuce Offenhauser intake, rebuilt carbs, headers, beefed cam. Motor has a couple thousand miles since complete rebuild. I heard it run before he took it out. Wondering what it's worth?

Not sure of the year, too excited to ask. I think late '60's, early '70's

Do you know if it's a 250 or a 292? I'm thinking around a grand, depending on cubes. A rebuilt inline is not super valuable or hard to find, but that intake setup is pretty sweet, it's probably worth more than the engine itself. If the headers will fit whatever specific project you have in mind for this motor, I'd consider going a bit higher.

Ask about the head. You can tie up a grand easy in lumps, bowl work, etc.

Looks like it might be worth as much as a vintage henway!

Do you have a photo of the other side? That should give an indication if it is a 230/250 or a 292.

A quick way to tell the 292 from the smaller engines is that on a 292 the fuel pump is behind the right side motor mount.

Also the side cover is taller

On a 194,230 or 250 the fuel pump is in front of the motor mount and just below the distributor

The side cover on the smaller engines is a lot shorter too.

If he can do***ent the rebuild with receipts for parts and work and what is in the photos including carbs, intake headers and flywheel are included I don't think the 1200 that 1200 that invisible kid suggested is off the mark as an opening offer. I've got a 292 that is supposed to be a decent runner and when I put carbs, intake and headers on it I'll have at least 6 to 7 hundred in those pieces alone.

I guess it depends if you want a inline 6 with 3 deuces,so you are the only one that knows how much your willing to spend. HRP
