Better hurry. I'd bet that somebody on here knows that car, and who owns it. While you talk about it on the HAMB, they're hooking up their trailer.

Don't mention it, spending other peoples' s money is extremely satisfying!

  4. It is not a lot of fun but be sure to get the paperwork clean or at least have a plan to do so before you start anything. You may end up registering it as an ***embled vehicle (if they do that in your state, ask) and need bills of sale for all of the major components, plan ahead. Congratulations on your purchase it definitely looks like a good body. Also (in California at least) taxes are based on the value of the vehicle so get it registered as soon as possible.

If you like a 32 5 window, then go for it.

Don't be misled however about this purchase being a once in a lifetime sort of event. Firstly, life is what you make of it.

Secondly, it's a car that has been cut up and repainted. Not extremely rare.

Not to mention, there were over double the production numbers of 5 window to 3 window coupes. Out of the 53,000 + 5 window coupes built that year, surely there are a substantial quan***y left that you can purchase.

Don't rush into something just because other people think you should do it.

If your heart is set on it, then jump on it.

  6. I am not one to judge a deuce as far as cash value. I have seen them go really high and really low. I am going to suggest that the fella who owns it has some idea what he wants for it. Maybe tell us what he has in mind and we can say no that is too much or better get yourself down to the plasma bank and start raising that dough. LOL

That one looks pretty solid and I am going to guess that it is going to go pretty high. I like the 5 window and the once I have seen in that condition lately have had an asking of 20K and up.

Hearing you guys discuss ***les and such in other states makes me glad I live in Alabama. I have taken a hand written bill of sale on a piece of s**** paper to the registration office and put the car in my name and got tags for it. Old cars here are not considered to be valuable enough to need a ***le evidently. The worst part of getting one registered here is waiting in line and having to show insurance on some pile of junk that won't be roadworthy in years.

Well do you need a trailer and a spare corner of a shop yet? Joe

I like the 5 window better than the 3 as a style. The reason 3 windows are more popular rods is, in part, that the door is wider than on the 5. Given the body shape of lots of today's rodders, we need a wider door.

I guess whether you should buy it depends partly on your budget, partly on your skills and partly on how much you value "original steel+patch panels+ Bondo". Once you take this body into the 20's, you could buy a new United Pacific or Brookville and just have nice new metal to play with.

From reading your past threads, it would appear that you have bought more '32 5 windows than most, - you are probably the best one to make the decision.

Sad to report that the man decided not to sell it. Oh well, I will keep trying.

Guy is probably on the HAMB, and has been reading all the posts. Next time, don't say **** 'til after you do the deal.

Nope he is not on the hamb, even made a one time offer for more than he wanted, he knows how nice it is and just isn't ready to part with it at this time. He told me he would sell it when I first talked to him but he changed his mind. I don't blame him one bit.

You NEVER pay too much for a 1932 Ford,.... But sometimes, you just buy them too early.
