So, as hot rodders, we always want to know. Even if it's just tuning the carb, . But is my car faster than Joe Blow? or can he p*** me on the interstate, Hot Rod Lincoln style, if I don't want him to? I see some drag races and wonder how 2 cars would perform, same day same air correction, same wind, same track conditions. Maybe this is the answer. Dead in the middle of the country, fellowship, sand drags, movie night, land speed, huge vintage car show, Southern FOOD, live music and drag races! All in one event. Why not? Huge event with p***ionate people conducting it. Beautiful flag girls, 660' of concrete on Sunday featuring CASH! payouts for every cl***, custom built trophies for the upper cl***es, very nice facility that can be seen from Interstate 55 in Missouri, Harleys, Kustoms, m***ive 3 day swap meet and a Sunday morning church service! Bangers, Inlines, Pre '54 engines powering Coupes, Roadsters, G***ers, Dragsters!! gritspeedchallenge.weebly.com or wadeowens2007@yahoo.com with any questions Thank you all and we hope to see you next year.
Insurance. Liability. Even one small injury equals one lawsuit that can ruin you. Sanctioning bodies have their hands full.
We used to do a little thing kind of like that not far from there called the HAMB Drags. It was fun as hell. Good luck to you and your event, looks like a good time. -Abone.
Insurance doesn’t mean ****! Doug Wolfgang sued and won a claim against Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas and the World of Outlaws for injuries he suffered in a practice crash! Now he wasn’t completely in correct in the fact here wasn’t enough safety personnel (only 2) or training at the those who were there but I will also say he was a professional race car driver and knew the risks of what could happen that day, particularly with that few trained people there that day! The track, and The World of Outlaws (a professional touring series) both had/carried insurance and everyone drivers and crew members have to sign a liability wavers to enter the pits! https://caselaw.findlaw.com/court/us-10th-circuit/1027220.html
Blame the "We'll take your case, you don't pay if we don't win" bunch. Doesn't matter what actually happens, someone will make a claim and take it to court against you. Defending yourself is destruction of your time, wealth, and well-being. People are only too happy to sue these days, for ANYTHING.
