I have a problem...and a diner.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by unclescooby, Apr 13, 2010.

  1. IF you have the space, you could build the ultimate entertainment area! Get an older stainless (like a Viking) grilltop/oven combo, a stainless beer fridge and a soda fountain/blender and youre in bidness! (Not REAL bidness!)
Burgers, dogs and malts for friends and family at get togethers! I'm sure you hang out with people who think/feel like you do about the past, everyone would dig it. It'd be cool as all hell!
Thinking about it, I guess you'd need a bun steamer too! :D

If you DO do this, you could always invite me down. I'm a huge Colts fan.

The robots are on hold till winter time. Right now I'm building my third eight foot tall concrete Easter Island Moai head for my back yard garden. There will be five of them. Kinda time consuming but if you want em, ya gotta build em.

Let me know if anyone is REALLY serious about needing a diner. I'm gonna Ebay the other half next week if no one here wants it. The cool thing is that it's ready to ship, probably on one truck. Unlike an ***embled diner, you don't have to ship it as a complete building and spend the enormous expense and h***le of getting permits, choosing routes, and paying huge bucks.

I don't have near the operating capitol as you have but I have really wanted to open a coffee shop.
Maybe you could lend me the building and whenever you're in town the coffee is on me. :D

  9. Funny thing is, when my wife read this, she said she'd LOVE to have a diner in our backyard!

DON'T sell the diner !!!!!!!!! set it up as a diner ,,,, make sure that you have a large lot leveled out for parking ,,, and have a once -a - month hamb run .. then you won't have a addiction anymore .. it becomes a small business ... get grants from uncle SAM to keep it a float ,, write off all the things you buy ,,, IT WILL WORK .... and don't forget the swap meet with burgers and colas ...

  13. I might be game for the whole thing if you shoot me a price, always wanted a diner and that thing looks too cool to p*** up and where in the hell do you find this stuff? I've always wanted to have a 50's drive in movie theater and a 50's diner and a hot rod shop all in one spot thats my dream anyways

I was thinking about using half of it as a poolhouse but could do it either way. If anyone wants half it's $7500, or $15k for the whole thing. I am told that the "new" reproductions are about $100k. it's dis***embled and ready to ship and I have guys who can ship it. I'm going to post up some additional pictures tonight. I probably should sell at least part of it. Cause, you know... there's a petting zoo for sale upstate....

    You're a bad man.

Didn't you and I have a conversation about a certain Ford shoebox, just last week? Why, yes, I believe we did!

Seriously, though, congratulations. Looks like a killer score, and I know you'll turn it into something cool.

You better. I'm envious. I want a big empty building too!

  17. leave the dinner full size next to your bowling alley with a ****** tonk Bar and drive inn theater. put a drag strip behind it and have Ryan start a second HAMB drags. of course you'd have to add car hops on roller skates to your diner.

Recreate the Route 66 town from the "Cars" movie. You're off to a great start!
