My 60 Falcon has a 64 Econoline straight axel in it with 1958 Chevy spindles and drums. That is what I was told anyway. I have some play in the drives side kingpin and when I tried to buy a kit from Speedway I was told no one makes a king pin to install Chevy spindles on econoline axel. Has anyone else done this or does anybody have any ideas other then buying a new straight axel or putting Ford spindles back on?

I would knock out the pin and measure it you should be able to fine out what it is then.

To me that seems like an odd mating of parts. It could be possible, but I have just never heard of doing it that way. I wonder about things like camber being correct.

Post some good pictures of what you have and maybe we can figure it out.

Not on pickups... up to 59, then 64-69 on chevy vans.

Not only a picture, but also measure the bolt pattern on the backing plate side to side and top to bottom. I also have an Econoline straight axle in my Falcon, and can't imagine why anyone would trade the stock spindles and drums for other brand spindles and drums. I can measure mine and check to see how they match yours once you get measurements. The E100 spindle pattern is pretty unique.
Might also see if the hubs have been redrilled for Chevy pattern, or are they 5x4.5" Ford pattern?
