Technical I have a what is it

I found this between the gas tank and dash in a 30 Model A cowl driver's side. Anyone have an idea what it used to be?

 

Looks like it used to be a switch...
Or a dikfer.

 

Heater switch?

 

It's an ancient push-pull switch. Not a Ford item.

 

Non Ford.... probably an aftermarket light switch to replace a screwed up through-the-steering-column stock light switch.
