I don't know what "local builder" you're talking about, but he sounds like an ignorant jack ass to me. There are lots of us that can perform any facet of our builds well. I rarely have any assistance when building a project no matter what stage it's in (not that I don't welcome it). Being good at every form of completion takes talent and dedication, but it is not impossible. Congrats again(!) on a very well built rod. I absolutely love it.

Im not even sure who the guy was. I get a lot of "builders" that come by. I have learned that the real car guys usually point out cool points on a car and look more than speak. The arrogant know it all usually dont really have a clue, and will spout of with comments like" A good metal guy cant be a painter". or a bodyman is an artist, and artists arent good at mechanical stuff.

That's funny you mentioned that Jim. Most people I know that "get it" do just that; stare, compliment details, and ask questions (gasp!) instead of making statements...

Yea, If you have built a lot of stuff, its easy to appriciate where someone has put a lot of effort into something, even if it isnt how you would do it. Anyone can see a fault, it takes a certain level of knowledge to see the crraftsmanship, and art in a project.

  5. Great job Jim. It was sure fun watching the build.

Great finished product, Jim! I imagine that this one would be tough to sell off. This, by far, is my favorite car that I've seen come from your stable.

Damn, that interior shot looks so perfect and simple, it almost looks fake. (that's hard to accomplish). Good job.

Except Jim's car has proportions and can actually be driven more than on and off a trailer... I've seen that car in person above and it was ridiculous watching them try to park it

Thats funny that you would relate the 2. when i started on the chevy my plan was to build the same basic car as that without the cartoony frills, and perportions.
    I guess I did it.

Pretty fucking cool! The only thing that would make it better was if it were mine.

Your coupe is definitely the essence of a true nostalgia hot rod like the old ORANGE CRATE show /race car. Timeless and unique. Not to get off subject, but what tire is on the back of that candy orange monster coupe? Does anybody know out there?

That is cool. I myself have a place in my heart for the true freak machines like that car. I just wanted to take it a lil more to the real side. Your buddy built one wild ride, that is for sure.
