sad reply. It is not being discarded, it is being passed to fellow enthusiasts.

  4. That could be the ad from Pierce Arrow Museum

A friend said the car was taken there after sitting for years, Museum got it up and running and had it on display and for sale, then was pulled by family.

Then you don’t have the official Ford-given serial number on the car. It probably was given a state issued replacement number somewhere in its life. If you are lucky there is a small plate riveted somewhere with that replacement number on it. If not, I’d guess you could contact the state DOT and ask how to get a new plate installed with that number. They might be willing to help?

Yes! I posted it there but then ran into the Vin/registration problem.

This is the same car. it is my father's. I got it up and running at Russo's Garage BEFORE it went to the museum for display for one year. We pulled it and put in in storage. He was not helpful in selling it.

I changed the AVATAR photo so you can see another photo because I can't figure out how to post a URL photo yet

There’s a lot of ways to go about selling the car. You’ve got a few things working against you right now. One is you don’t know anything about the car really. You aren’t sure about the paperwork you have or the vin on the car which on a 32 frame could be difficult to see on an assembled car. If the museum that had it had the car for sale, even as a best offer type situation, then surely a value was discussed. Might be a good place to start and try to sell the car privately. Disclose the paperwork situation and see what happens.

You aren’t going to solve your vin problem here. You aren’t going to get a clear answer. You need local help.

Lastly in this market I wouldn’t consider 30 grand to be a lowball offer. Not saying it isn’t worth more but the market is very soft. Sucks but a lot of good cars are sitting for sale that 10 years ago would have sold easily.
    Good luck

Yes this is what I am doing. I didn't know about it until this week when I talked to Hemmings.

It’s a cool car that looks well built. Bring it down to Wildwood NJ this weekend for The Race of Gentlemen. Park it on the street where everyone is walking around and take in the sights. There’s guys from all over the world there and people do sell cars there. You may sell it, definitely will get some feedback or may get super into hot rods. Who knows

  28. Yep. It looks like you got a genuine little jewel there. Hope you get all your paperwork straightened out without too much grief.
