Same car. Shame it doesn’t look as nice as it did in that old photo posted on the FordBarn. Still happy to own it!

Same here in South Dakota...bought an Oldsmobile from New York State last year.
It came with a Transferable Registration slip only.
Local SD DMV ( County Courthouse ) had to call Pierre, SD Capital DMV Office,
who then called NYS to verify No NY Titles existed before 1973.
SD Capital called our local DMV and a SD Title was issued for the Oldsmobile.
.....and WE ALL thought OUR DMVs were screwed up !!.....go figure

Appears he got what he needed (info, how to...), and moved on. Probably already had a buyer in waiting. Not really uncommon here, but poor etiquette IMO.

Very neat car and I'm sure this is tough spot for you. May I suggest coming up with a description and asking us for help on getting the verbiage correct and accurately stated.

Things like electronic fuel injection (which it does not have). It has three Stromberg carbs and those gears could be Lincoln Zephyr. It doesn't have Edlebrock valve covers.

I'm not trying to pick it apart, but I'm just suggesting that accuracy is crucial when trying to sell a car. Conflicting details can turn off buyers.

At the heart of this vintage beauty sits a Flathead engine that ensures an exhilarating driving experience, making every outing an adventure. The flathead was painstakingly rebuilt with a three deuce setup, Offenhauser heads, Edelbrock aluminum valve covers, electronic fuel-injection and ignition, stainless steel straight pipes, coupled with the manual transmission using Mercury Zephyr Gears. It's also endlessly customizable to make it your own.

Please have patience with this listing. I've been busy.

I'm learning as I go. I need to put together a better description of the car before I can list it. Is there anyone here that could perhaps help with its description? I have photos and some video of it running.

    All HELP appreciated!

We appreciate you coming back on and replying.

If your paperwork is in order and it’s legal to go, we can help you out.

If you would like to send me a private message, I’ll certainly help on creating a nice ad to put in the classifieds.

I see you edited out the value. So I won’t mention it, but was that value given to you for insurance costs? Or market value?
    Thanks

So did you look at FS ads, or send pics to someone? Etc?
Ie a pristine professionally restored car, is usually sold at a premium, I actually don’t recall yours (age thing) so don’t be alarmed if no bites based on Hemmings information.
There are several places that (for a cost) will assess either a sale price, or an insurance price. Reputable ones will show you their previous sale assessments and what the vehicle actually sold for.
Ie me saying it “worth X” and another guy saying it’s “ worth Y” isn’t something to even split in the middle.
Takes work and sometimes some $$ to get a proper assessment so you know it will sell even after some bargaining and you’re still satisfied with the outcome.
    Best of luck!

I would accept @corncobcoupe's offer to help write your ad. Perhaps you already have.

Do you know how to send private messages on this forum? I ask because it confuses a lot of newcomers (and even some not-so-newcomers).

To get started, scroll up to corncobcoup's avatar image (4 posts above this one). You'll see this:

Next, hover your cursor over the image. This will reveal a lot of "hidden" information, including a link you can click to Start a Conversation with corncobcoupe. Your message to him will be private, only him and you.

Good luck to you on the sale. Dealing with a family estate can be overwhelming. You don't "owe" anybody here an explanation or apology for not being able to respond quickly.

For a car like that, any time is good. Folks who are interested in that car won't be buying based on the calendar.

Your pops didn't post much but I located his profile.

Condolences...to you and the family and friends in Bobs passing. That's a beautiful Hotrod. Cob will look after you...someone will have a nice ride to put it back on the road where your pops would have liked it to be.

Oh! this is neat to see. I know that he often looked at the sight and looked for parts.

There is a lot of membership that do minimal posting, its to bad too because every member here can offer what they know and help with the gospel as we say it here. I'm surprised you're not interested in keeping a ride for yourself but its not for everyone I know. Maybe you have kept other things that interest you to remember him by. He only posted twice...anyways maybe you have a interest in something vintage, just not this Roadster. The funds raised in the sale may help another dream come alive for you. Old cars are very personal. Good luck in the future and if you have the bug like we do for all things vintage come on as you please and share your vintage experiences. Did your Pops have a photo collection of rides and friends rides tucked away...Many here have wrote a little story and shared such collections of their loved ones archives. It's what we celebrate here. If you share such things there really is no better a place to do it. and it will be here as long as the Hamb is. It never gets old and is always accessible and helps with the history by region which can vary a lot..
