I have two suggestions for directories I would like to get your opinion and the rest of the HAMB'sters opinion on.

1, a directory of operating salvage yards, maybe with phone numbers and addresses. Specifically ones that let patrons browse through the inventory.

2, a directory of swap meets. This may be a little harder as it would probably have to be updated yearly.

Please accept my apology in advance if there is already a thread or a directory that address this already.

Thanks for the forum and your time.

This is Great in Thought. But Seems like it is very Difficult for members to put the "STATE" that their Event is happening in on the Calendar. I Hope your yard idea would work.

on the swap meets , I find out the day after that I missed one
on the boneyards, road trips always happen for me and it sure would be nice to know a good yard in the area ahead of time

I agree Dreddybear. I could start a social group to accomplish this goal but i thought if there was a way to get someting up front and center, it would be well worh it. In addition, i thought this was a good way to guage support for such an upgrade. As you can see, I am not getting a lot of replies. Maybe HAMBers do not need this as much as i thought.

A couple of places you might look is "DRIVE" magazine, it lists all the swap meets and car shows its free!! and you can find it at most parts stores on the west coast, for parts try, car-parts.com, if you are ever in Arizona look for Hidden Valley auto parts in Maricopa, it is hidden but lots of old cars! There is also one east of Mesa but I can't remember the name! OF

I use to go junkyarding with a guy that had a book of all the junkyards in the US. Don't remember the name though. It did help when we went out west, we found some really neat yards in AZ.
