the Irony here for me is most of my buddies have toolboxes in thier kitchen.
unfortunatley, they go hand and hand with the Carb in the sink and the shortblock in the living room...and the cylinder heads under the bed...
Damn. My buddies need to move out of thier crappy apartments.:D
    Congrats,tho!

If you ever go into a operating room in a hospital you will see a snap on tool box. I asked a orthopedic Doctor about it. He said " thats where I keep my drills taps screwdrivers hammers and plyers." Denise that is the cleanest house I have ever seen a hotrodder have... Tell us about the bread box please.......Later...Bobby..

The operating room where they replaced my knee, looked like a WOODSHOP!! Saws, drills. hammers,chisles.etc. I'm sure glad I was out:D And lots of Snap on boxes. Nothing but the best tools for the old Sparkster:D BTW a Dishwasher will get carb. bodies, and tranny parts super clean. There is a connection betwixt the kitchen/shop/garage.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed on these channels I get (like Discovery ER or National Geographic TV) where they have the shows like "I'm so fat, I need gastric bypass surgery!" or "We got 3 people in here with bullet holes, here's the story" type shows...in these operating rooms, they have red Craftsmen tool chests full of surgical tools?! I assume they are sterilized somehow, but apparently many US hospitals have found it cheaper to employ Craftsmen tool chests to serve their needs...Just an observation. I think they look good in any kitchen/garage/hopspital room, so I'm biased...in fact, if they would have had at least a nice Craftsman 3-drawer bottom in MY hospital room last year, I would have felt more at home...

Being into cars at a very early age, I think I got my first "real" tool box, and a few tools, at the age of 8 or 9. Well before I was able to work on my pops car. Have been accumulating tools ever since, and trading up tool boxes every few years. I'm in the process of building a 40 drawer tool box/chest myself.

Not only pinstriping but every one of yer hot rod buds should sign it for you. Kinda like scrapbooking but with signatures for a history of who has stopped by to see one of the coolest hot rodders around ..... our own HRLC.

 It's like your in my head looking around:eek:
You remember that wall at PineKnob that everyone had to pass as you walked to your seats? It had signatures from the artists that had played there. Been thinking that the wall that goes down into the basement.....I mean HAMB Hotel, should be signed by my HAMB/RRT/PowerTour buds. It will probley get a fresh coat of paint next month and be really for graffiti thereafter.:D

    Denise,
I found a place on the Internet that sells Marker board in sheets you can apply to walls. I'll have to dig up the link and post it. This stuff is for conference room walls. Its neat stuff. Of course you'll want something where you can leave the signatures permanently. Oh well, the keyboard is sometimes faster than the brain.

By the way, where is my cookie? I voted for you and your Dad for EgoRama and never got my cookie.

I love the tool box decor.

Hospitals use the tool boxes because they are built for tools. You know nice heavy, steel tools need heavy gauge steel boxes with ball-bearing slides. Surgical tools are all stainless steel so you can sterelize them. And doctors use tons them in a surgery. You need a good "tool" box to keep them in and the surgery equipment people have never gotten it right. Snap-On and Craftsman have it right, so they get the business. I guess I'll have to get over to Costco and see the stainless steel ones.

That Costco one is very, very nice. I shop there about once a week, mainly to get photos developed, (very inexpensive) and I've had my eye on that stainless one for awhile now. It's huge and if I remember correctly about $649 or there abouts. Alittle too big and too expensive for me BUT for someone who has alot of tools and room it's a good deal compared to the Snap-on, Macco, Craftsman counterparts.

As far as the cookie goes, you'll need to collect at either the HAMB Drags or wait till my next trip west.:D
