I JUST totalled my 51 chevy truck

i just got hit head on and picked up off the ground and spun the other direction by a grand am. my truck is destroyed . i do not have the ambition to fix it anymore. i don`t know what fate it will meet. i think i will take it to my parents barn until i have the means to repair it. right now i am just so burnt out. all the time and money(for me anyway) just basically thrown away. i know that i was the worst critic that my truck had but, i really did love this truck. my son got his stomach cut by the glovebox and had his breathe took away at the time of impact but, is fine now. i am so glad of this. i could lose the truck but, my son...no way.

i would like to thank some of the hambers from NEW YORK who were so kind as to help me notify the police and push my truck safely out of the way.

 

OH S_IT hope the other party involed has insurance

sorry for your loss, i have a 53 chevy truck and i know how attached you can become to it. at least you guys were not banged up to bad. good luck!

 

I hate to say this, but Sue that asshole!!! I am in the middle of a law suit with a freakin drunk bastard who was on probation for DWI...When he hit me head on.. I was pretty busted up, no broken bones thank god, but alot of muscular and tissue damage, Major Hernia, herniated disks, rt knee damage, neck injuries etc..

I sure hope they had insurance though and that you and your son are ok. I had dropped my son(1 at the time) off at the sitters house not 5 minutes before my wreck.

I really hate seeing pictures like that. I can't imagine what that must be like to have a vehicle you love so much damaged so bad.

it was NOT the girls fault. i was motioned to go by a guy in the turning lane. he motioned me right into her lane of traffic. he is no-where around now. i was in her lane. i take the blame.

 

note both the frame horns goobered to the side. its conna take more than a clip. So sorry dude.

Man, as a fellow chevy pickemup owner, that sucks. I have owned a '47, a '52 and now a '54. I love my truck and would probably feel the same way you do about mine if this happened.

As a fellow father though, thank god the boy is alright. If i was in your position and saw my boy injured as a result of the neglegence of some one, I have no idea what i would have done. I would probably be in jail.

the frame is bent very badly before and behind the suspension. i really know now that i am a very good structural welder. none of my welds broke at all. i`m probably going to take a long break from all this for a while. i am between things workwise and i just can`t afford this right now.

 

believe me i have . seat belts will be in whatever is next.

 

thats just not good news at all!! it just sux!

see if the frame can be pulled back, pull out the fenders. get a new (used) grill - looks like the radiator is a sprinkler. i think you can get back on the road.

 

I say take your short break I mean short and we'll fix it
