i didn`t get any pics today but, she is a roller now. i`m gonna clean up the frame and paint it . then push it outside . then bring the cab in the garage to do some work to it. i`m also gonna clean up the engine and detail it a bit. the cab should be on by next weekend.

Just saw this post. Glad that you and your son are okay. You're setting a a great example for your son (and the rest of us) by getting after it.

I just saw your post. You told me at the rumble you recked your truck, but didnt see the pictures till tonight. After seeing your first picture I thought, heck its not beyond fixing. My car started with a lot less than that. Its just a lot of work!!!!!! I have a power steering box and pump off a 74 chevy if you need it. I couldnt use it. When we were building the 46 for my son, 3 point seatbelts were a must. It still kind of scares me letting him drive a hotrod but we built it as safe as possible. And he likes driving it! Let me know If there is anything I can do.

after welding this clip on, i had a buddy decide to sell me his s-10 project with all new front end components . its a good thing too , because after cleaning up everything on my new clip i found one of the upper control arms almost rusted in two. i`m glad i took the time to check everything out this time. so now i have 3 s-10s in my truck.... well, there is more than corn in indiana so, i am off to the beach today. no more updates today...

I missed this thread the first time around. First off, sorry to hear about the accident but thrilled both you and your son are fine.

I think you've got the seatbelt thing right? Now lets hit on insurance. Sounds like you didn't have any. Now days everyone needs to "protect" themselves and their own cars no matter who is at fault. Full coverage speciality insurance is CHEAP. You would have been given a check directly for parts and YOUR labor to fix your own truck. PLEASE do yourself a favor and check into it.

Good luck with the repairs bud

Specialty insurance is great if your vehicle is "done or close to being done". The insurance companies want progress pics and time schedules. When you're like most of us we don't have the money or time to meet the insurance deadlines to keep continues coverage. The best option for guys like us is to put liability on our car to cover the other guy. This way we can enjoy our cars once they are safe and roadworthy. Then finish them as time and money become our luxury.
