I think Brian @ Wheelers Speed Shop In H.B. Cal, has it in there showroom. I will ask Steve next time i see him
I was just looking for my issue of Truckin'.... it's AWOL!!!! AAAAAARGH!!! ...and speaking of illustrations I'd love to see of his again, anyone have a photo of the Clock Drive-In poster he drew a few years back? I was beyond broke at that point, and never could find one since... It's unreal. I have a decent kidney I'll offer up.
I've known Steve for over 25 years. He's prolly the most amazing automotive "stylist" on the planet. And, you won't meet a nicer, more humble person.
Steve Stanford is the reason I studied Transportation Design. I would be sitting in a highschool class flipping through some Hot Rod magazines being amazed by his work. I swore to myself that I was going to pursue automotive design, mostly because I was so inspired by his car renderings. As luck would have it, about 10 years ago at a Blessing of the Cars in Glendale, CA, I got to meet him. As everyone has said previously, he's the nicest, humblest man you could hope to meet.
There is a Thom Taylor book called "How to Draw Cars Like a Pro" which features quite a bit of Steve's work, as well as numerous other artists. It's worth a look.
Well that's just great!!!! From day 1 I bought my 31 sedan I told my wife I would paint it silver once it was done. Then guess what the hot rod shop up the street paints there 36 truck silver. About last summer I told my wife that I was going to do the (hole thing) in both seats and in all of our interior panels. Now I see this rendering and guess what it's going silver and I'm doing the holes. So ha! Thanks for the pics.

I was searching for some Stanford stuff and found this thread..... Anyone have any more to share? ttt....
Scotch, Groucho, either of you ever get hold of him and tell him that Don Steuernagel died May before last? They were in the service together.
Steve Stanford is one of the reasons I am an illustrator! As an artist EVERY piece that I've seen of his is inspiring! I think he is the BEST at rendering chrome. He's on my short list of artists on a "before I die I want an original" list. He's the MAN!
Bob was nice enough to bring a bunch of them to our open house a couple of month back. Great stuff. Wil www.sakowskimotors.com

Met Stanford at Lead East a few years back. What a super guy! I have that Clock Drive-In print, framed & hangin' in my basement lounge! Get your hands on a copy, if you can. It ranks right up there with those Robert Willams prints for koolness!!!!
