Especially the cheap body 300's and Custom 300's

I guess my old family southern history of running moonshine is showing ... but to me ... these old Fords really represent rodding in the late 50's and early 60's. The red one is too new and modern ... but is is BAD AZZ at least to me :D

I think I might just have to scout around and see if I can score a decent one ... ;)

Ya, but the SOHC motor kinda makes up for it.

I kinda like 'em myself. I own a '57 Ranch Wagon and a '57 300 two door project with an altered wheel base.

you can bet that red one hauls home the groceries wayyyy before the ice cream begins to melt. I love em all. Had a black 58 300 for a long time and had probably ten different engine and ****** combos in it over the years. When I sold it, it had a big block ford with a t10 and 4:11 posi. Fun old car...I miss her too.

    Me too !

Here's one I owned a few years ago. It was just a stock 292 with twin-pipes, but it was a fun car.

I too love 57 Fords. I sold one to a club mate since he wanted it more than I did, but I need to find one like that black one.

  11. I saw a black on black 57 Custum 3oo years ago with a 427 side oiler and a 4 speed. Damn near made me mess my pants.....

I never really liked them until Mike bought one for his Dad's birthday last year and gave it to him at the Kansas HAMB-B-Q.

I like the black one too, but it needs to be lower. I'm not talking frame s****ping pavement low, just a couple of inches.....

    I love 'em, too! :)
Here's a great site dedicated to the 1957 Ford, all models:
    http://www.1957ford.com/

Models listed separately here, with tons of pics:
    http://www.1957ford.com/asp/modellist.aspx?catmstrid=1

My first car (in 1995) was a '58 Ford Custom 300 2dr, 6cyl, 3spd/OD. Had some rust and a lotta miles, but didn't last too long. I was in a bad head-on accident in it (not my fault). Luckily, my dad made me put lap belts in it, so that most likely saved me. I did, however, plant my nose into the steering wheel, bent it all to hell, and broke my nose severely. Ended up with a "reconstructed" nose and 16 s***ches to hold it all back together.
Second car was a 1964 Galaxie.

Next one was a 1957 Ford Custom! Plain jane, 6cyl 3spd. Put a 302/auto in it and drove it for a few years and through college. Ended up selling it, but that is THE one car I wish I still had.
It's in the photo below. (yeah, yeah, flat black, red wheels, wide whites, so shoot me!)

That first one pictured (black) could find refuge in my garage. Only thing is I couldn't resist transplanting a BBC and a 5/6 spd and scaring the hell out of that '57 sheetmetal.:cool::D

Love them as moonshine runners or low down customs. Not a '57 Chevy person.
