The two previous T- Lake Modifieds are from a April 2012 issue of Rod & Custom. There were several nice ones in there.

Years ago I sold a 1923 Franklin hood and grille to a guy who planned on using it on a T roadster, looks a lot like your tractor tank based grille. Bob

Actually, track roadsters and modifieds are two different animals. THIS is a "track T".

Help me out here, technically what's the difference between a Modified and a T-bucket, or a T track roadster?

Any could be the other, and each could be all.

I wasn't there then, but from looking at a lot of photos of the originals, I would guess that many of them were run in multiple venues.
If I was a young man in the 30's, 40's or early 50's and my buddies and I had built a hot rod out of whatever we could scare up plus a lot of labor I'd have raced it anyplace they'd let me. If there were rules I'd have met them for dirt or salt or asphalt. Let's go racin' man!

I've been trying to figure out what's between the driver's elbows and the steering wheel in this picture. Finally decided it must be his knees.
