Well today is your lucky day. I just happened to have the Street Rod February 1973 magazine on my desk that the car was featured in... 1554157589093~2.jpeg 1554157607506~2.jpeg 1554157679184~2.jpeg 1554157711103~2.jpeg 1554157757033~2.jpeg 1554157777578~2.jpeg 1554157821169~2.jpeg 1554157843724~2.jpeg

My inspiration was the early Track T's.

Well that leaves things pretty wide open. How about some generalities than?

Modifieds don't normally have a rear deck or box, have a shorter wheelbase, and some have the front axle located further forward. Narrowed bodies were a carry over from the dry lake days. Track Roadster rules required a turtle deck or box length of 36", full width body and a minimum of a 99" wheelbase. IMG_0471.JPG Fast Lane track-t's 005.jpg

I actually just acquired my copy not to long ago , my brother had it at his antique shop.
I thinned out my magazine collection last year, around 300+ went away, Hot Rod mid 80's and up gone, 4x4 and pick up , stock car racing, and alot of other crap gone...got tired of moving them around plus I had a toilet explosion one day while I was not home and flooded a room and alot got water damaged, plus when I would move them to a different location in the house it would start popping, growning shacking like it was going to collapse, well it was built in 1905 by my great grandfather and some of the towns people..

My buddy and his son built this one. Both over 6' tall it was no fun on long trips. It's mine now.

Man, those are beautiful hubs, I'd run wide 5's if I had a set of those. Who made them?

  14. That is a very clean front end. Looks like quarter elliptical springs? More pics maybe?

Many of the very small modifieds are so minimal and understated looking. Especially with a full hood and the abbreviated rear... clean, simple.
Almost to the point of being underwhelming.
Until the driver turns the key...
... and you realize that it's a snarly, badass, V8 powered roller skate!

Some of these cars use belly tanks for fuel storage?

Not everyone’s cup of tea but saw this at Bama Beach Cruisn’ a week ago. I think this may be a Speedway Tribute T. Your mileage may vary! 6DBA9AA0-3F76-48A3-8F89-FCFF063BBD9D.jpeg
