I have posted this awhile ago....I look at this ALL the time....Just SCREEMS Hot Rod. I saw it at Detroit and fell in love.....man.....this BAD.
That is a bad *** ride even if it is red and i agree with 3WLarry, loose the fenders. I can definately tell why you look at it so much though. Big Tony Forget cookies and milk... Give me ***ties and beer
I like it the way it stands.....A long and interesting story on this ride. It has a bit of history....
It's so perfect the photo looks like Monogram box art for the third car in the "Green Hornet", "Big T" series set. The fenders are traditional dirt track jalopy trim.Lou Brown's "Clipped Coupe" '32 5 window in the November '61 R & C has fenders trimmed like that. I remember all the Jalopies racing at Ascot were like that to keep from them getting bent into the tires when they'd "bump & go".
HOTRODDRUMMER/Is this truck from the Motor city area? I never did get to meet the owner......damn the So What crew and there alcohol!!
the guy is from cincy, ohio area. sometimes pulls his front engine rail with it... i could round up some info if needed.
yea....no rush.....if you could pm me it that would be very cool.I would really app. it and get a few pics of him hauling his digger
I think I'd like it better if the fenders were on the front and back. Something about them being up front but not on the back doesn't look right to me. But it's still an amazing car. Nice than anything I've got.
I am the hugest Y-Block fan! Weird thing is right now I don't have anything with a Y-Block in it. I have a nice flatty that I am using in my Model A project, but I would much rather have a Y-Block.
Damn it Jeff, you've got me scrounging through all my old mags, because I I always thought that was a clone of a magazine cover car. I first saw the car 3 year ago at Indy, I just ***umed it was a clone, but the original truck was from Ohio so maybe it's the original truck. Here's a magazine article from the "Rod & Custom in the 1950's" book.
Looking at those pics it sure looks like the same truck. Just needs those original rear fenders and that subtle pinstripe and all would be right with the world.
