I don't know how to do a screen shot, but it looks like i've made the list of Most likes received in the past 7 days! Right in front of @HOTRODPRIMER and @Moriarity .
Someone said not long ago on here some hambers enjoy getting lots of likes, it's a priority for them. I don't get it, what's the turn on?
It's a way of gauging if you are presenting content that is worthy of appreciation or agreement...I like to think of it also as a notification of meeting the guidelines... You seem to be likeable @superair It seems a bit technical for many and I get not everyone's a techie...I also use it to let members know I read their post...imagine that eh!...and I know MANY don't...but they should because they might learn something... Now if only members would notice those red flags they might find out someone is trying to notify them...
Stogy , I never used the ‘likes’ . Always thought it was too Facebooky After your explanation I now see a different perspective. Thanks
I'm surprised Lloyd's tree falling down hasn't put him right up there. Weather has been good here so I've been in the shop, and actually drove my hot rod yesterday, but I'll strive to do better..
@210superair It's kinda like when we had the badge system. You rose through the ranks by how many posts you had. Instead of being a grenade inspector you got bumped up to guru. And what @Stogy said.
Your welcome @dalesnyder...I don't do facebook other than looking or linking content I share...it however can be very good for finding incredible content... That red flag up there also can mean someone is letting you know there is something they found you might like to see such as a new build or a wild vintage pic of a vintage pic you would enjoy... I did that a few days ago and sent a Page and PM. I'm Still waiting...I believe he is unaware of the two red flags...OR he doesn't Log In...Remember if you don't Login you can't like, PM or see them on the Threads you are in...
I don’t do the space book or other computer sites either. It was just a bad weather week here. Lol So I got a little carried away. Plus I liked Ryan’s Box art thread, and your chopped thread. I don’t think I make that list often. I hit the like button when one of ya post something I like. Just a little thanks for you effort. [emoji41]Ron.... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like the "like" system, think it lets people know they are posting good stuff and we enjoy reading it. I don't think I ever made the list, but then again I don't check it every day. Bob
I see I'm NOT on the list...which just fuels my inferiority complex...guess it's back to therapy for me
I hit the like button to let someone know I read a post aimed at me, thank someone, etc. As far as caring how many I get? Eh. Don't. If others do, that's cool, congratulations on winning the likes count... And no, I'm really not that nice of a guy, lol. I've been misleading you guys evidently! I'll try to be more of an ass....
I prefer the “like” in threads. I/e I see a topic I’m interested in and it had 30 replies to it. I’d rather see 30 likes than 30 replies of “ cool, nice, sweet” etc. I realize folks are just showing appreciation for the post, but the “like” can do that and allow good content in follow up questions, etc that pertain to the post
And the more likes you have the easier it is to pick up chicks. Yeah, they really dig it when a guy has a lot of internet likes from other dudes. It's like some sort of electronic pecking order. When I get to 20,000 likes I am thinking about having a hoodie made with a screen shot of that shit. Like Navin Johnson it will be all like, "things are gonna start happening to me now!"
There is something oddly addicting and rewarding about seeing that little lightening bolt flag lit up in red when logging in. Congrats on making the big time likes list!
