Spent the last month changing several things on my modified to remove the dumb and ugly looking things (at least the ones that are easy to fix [IMG] [IMG] ).

Here's a brief list of the major things I did and a picture of the current set-up. I am taking this to Paso and want to put it up on the selling block, so these changes should help that cause:
    1. Blasted the wheels to remove rust and painted them all the same matching black color (what, not red????)
    2. Cut the windshield down in the center and leaned it back a lot more.
    3. Removed the previous awful headlights and installed 40 Chevy truck headlights.
Rest of the changes were small and mostly detailing type stuff. Here is the after modifications picture:

I always thought the "oddball" 215 Ford mill was the coolest thing about that car! [IMG]

(I didn't know ya still had it...thought ya sold it months ago!)

Very cool...I could see it going in a "Munsters" sort of fashion...Goth Rod fer sure! [IMG]

Final third pic with after modifications showing more detail of the windshield and the new headlights.

It is amazing to me how much those two items in the before pic make it look so bad. Hopefully these changes will make it sell at Paso, then I can start on my 27 coupe with 60 Olds drivetrain project.

BTW, the engine in my modified is a 53 Ford 215 (later became the 223), not a Chevy. Many people think it's a 235 at first glance.

Thanks Hack, just think it could even be more oddball if it had a Vega engine! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

  11. I'm sure it'll sell at Paso... he's not asking all that much for it... and when you consider it's a running/driving/licensed car... it makes it an even better deal.

Looks a lot better now, but I think you should have left a bit more height in the centre of the windshield, with the outers just as they are now. Looks a little out of proportion, but that's just my opinion [IMG]

Happy Hoppy, same price as before $5900. Runs and drives great. ****led and current reg as a 24 Ford, I also have 1924 year of manufacture Calif plates****igned to it. I don't think you could find something as far along as this with the quality of construction for much better price, in my opinion.

I appreciate the comments from everyone, even Hack's pic which cracks me up! If you are at Paso stop by and say hi, you know what the car looks like now! I hope to be taking an empty trailer home with me [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

IMO The changes are an improvement. That should sell if anyone has a clue of how much it takes (cash and time) to come with a running car.

Terry, that windshield is dead on right now. Nice job. I've always been into black wheels, too.
