If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would buy a 1963 Impala Sports Sedan, I would have slugged you. But here she is in all her glory. Wife loves it and so do I. Now for the maintenance she deserves. Just bragging a little. Gary
Real nice car....I remember the time when I would never have a 4 door car...but, I am glad ''now'' to see the reality of them, and they are indeed 'useful' as time passes (hate scrunching into the back seat!!!)....I'm a 100% fan of 4 doors now, and a little comfort is a good thing I've found out....I like the looks of your car...love the color, and it's clean, and shows a nice style....I would enjoy a car like yours....just chillin' and driving for the fun of it
in high school a guy who we called "HOT ROD Lincoln" (his last name was Lincoln) had one just like it, color, doors and all. I recall seeing him come flying through an intersection where the cross street was like a foot taller in the center than on the side, he was flying, while his tires never actually left the ground I'm sure he both extended and compressed his shocks all the way on that one.
A 4 door hardtop isn't as bad as a 4 door sedan so you can still be the cool guy with that car. Looks nice. Lots of us would be proud to own it.
Right on, looks like a cool cruiser! Sportin' a few accessories like gas door guard, dual rear antennas, bumper guards. Does it have a 283, and maybe a powerglide? She'll run forever. What's the rest of the story......where'd you find it, how many miles, etc.?
Congrats on the nice ride. On the small chance yours has a factory AM-FM radio, it's worth big $$. Very few 63's had an AM-FM,somewhere around 6 hundred. I traded for this 63 Ht a couple of years ago, thought I trade it for something else but now I don't want to give it up. Friends say it suits me, not sure if I should be mad about that or not.
Thanks for the comments. The 63 has a 283 2 barrel, power glide trans. tilt wheel, dual antennas, front and rear bumper guards, chrome by the gas cap door, power steering and brakes and a padded dash. Plans are to add seat belts, clean it up as good as possible, convert the steering to a 605 box and new pump. fix all the leaks an minor rust issues and cruise with my wife. Thanks again, Gary
