The rear in question is a '37 Ford, the measurements I'm looking for are (looking down from above the chassis) from centerline of rear spring to centerline of axle & (looking at chassis from the side) top of spring to centerline of axle.

I'm sketching a chassis for my garage full o'parts & need to fill in some dims. I don't have the rearend yet but found a '37 I might be able to get cheap.

On the same topic, what banjo rears are the same?
Im guessing the years I think are the same ... what are the differences?
    '35-'38
    '39-'41
    '42-'48
    Thanks!

The dimension you are looking for is 7.5 inches.

The external differences in the rears are as follows:
35 and 36.. spring hanger is part of radius rod and
    bolts to axle housing.
37thru40 radius rods bolt to axle flange at backing plate.
And the spring hanger is part of axle housing.
I think the 41 thru 48 has a longer axle and housing, about
.75 inches longer than the 40.
