...but don't know anything about them. Never even used one. I want something that I can use to cut and heat with. I have a welder already. A small set-up would be nice so I can easily travel with it to the junkyard. Lowes has a Harris kit for $269 with two tanks included but there is no rosebud tip in the kit. Then I found this on Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11774&item=3816345103&rd=1 Would this work for me? It will do only light work and will be used rarely - I don't want to sink a fortune in a kit. Thanks, JH
it states no brand name just as "imported" so parts might be hard to come by or expensive, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=408798&Forum=All_Forums&Words=torch%20burndup&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=3months&Main=408684&Search=true#Post408798 was previously discussed with good input and info if you wanna backtrack and look the post over
[ QUOTE ] it states no brand name just as "imported" so parts might be hard to come by or expensive, [/ QUOTE ] ...or total*****. That guy's feedback was a mess too. I looked at the other thread and found a link to the Ebay store for IOC Welders. They have a portable Victor set with tanks for just $20 more. I hit the "Buy It Now" and it should be here by the weekend. Thanks, JH
A big Rosebud will drain a small tank setup FAST! I would get the biggest tanks you can. Nothing worse than running out on a Saturday night when you need it most.
Sears sells a similar kit, and it's easy to go back to them if something's not right. Almost no starter kit includes a rosebud. They're not cheap, either. If you get a good Oxy-Acetelyne outfit, you can do almost anything.
Don't buy the small ones. You'll be spending to much time and money filling tanks. Been there done that.
