A guy I know uses aluminum sauce pans (handles removed) and a base of some sort. They look very similar to the hellings pictured.

His engine was one of the pics in the last Hot Rod Deluxe from the HAMB drags. It's a double 4 barrel Olds Rocket motor in a white engine bay.

Well just don't follow the crowd with hubcaps, wheelcovers, headlamps, saucepans(which I gotta admit is better than this other ****), brakedrums(?), washtubs, huge pro-stock fibergl*** anything (snorkels, ****els, dinkles, etc). Why not just wrap the whole engine in a form-fitted body-colored and pinstriped sheet metal jacket like all the guys?

    OR, use aircleaners.

Something simple like this could look clean on the Dog Bros... and easy to make.

  21. You just can't beat these little dudes. They're cean and simple and don't draw the eye away from the hardware. The little football shaped ones off a late 50's Golden Fury are cool too but pricey. Of course you could always go with a cow skull :D

There is a guy on E-Bay that hand makes these 60s style scoops for single or dual carbs. Here is mine that is painted the same color as my Coupe. I am trying to find someone local to put a nice "rat fink" character on top of it. These things are SUPER quality and ready to sand, prime, paint ! The 6 inch aircleaners fit inside of it. Just go to ebay and type in G***er scoop or surfer scoop. He has a link to "you tube" showing him make them--really neat !
