Hey guys, I pulled my starter out of my 56 Buick last week and had it rebuilt, new solenoid as well. I installed it over the weekend and it fired right up on the first attempt. I drove it on Saturday, I had several errands to run so I was in and out of the car throughout the day, and it started right up each time. I also installed an electric fan and everything appeared to be working properly. I got up Sunday morning to take the car for a spin and my battery was dead. I pulled a battery out of my other car and put that in the Buick, I turned the key to the ON position and the starter started cranking before the pedal was even engaged (which you have to do to start the car), and the starter would not disengage. I got under the car to make sure no wires were touching on the solenoid and everything looked okay. Is there an adjustment I need to be doing on the solenoid that I am missing that is causing the starter to act up, Mike Attached Images
