    Thank you much.

I wasn't always so. I had to make a lot of mistakes to find the way.

Now, when in doubt about people I always try to consider my own history of being socially abrasive.

i met a large volume hauler from here in our area a coupla years ago when i helped him replace some batteries on his rig in an emergency when i worked at Tractor Supply. none of the autoparts places would help him because it wasn't a standard battery replacement. it was for the lifts on the trailer...

i know i gave his info to a customer when i worked at Rutters in hickory but i'll have to dig around and see if i can find his card again now. i'll dig through my pile of business cards tonight and see if i can find it.

oh and i'd be interested in the shop info to. i left Rutters at the beginning of the year and mainly work out of mine and others garages/shops at will...

What about race car haulers? Different group of people but NASCAR etc is popular there and you could ask around.

If you're a bit time-flexible maybe they can do it on off days, or as a back-haul from something else?

ATL ***embly is long gone . they move production to Chicago .

I would say try allied, Ryder, C***ens or one of the car carrier companies but the vehicles have to move under the own power , for a tractor to move a loaded trailer , you can try a broker board for that ( a local O/O probably would be better ) , but the parts trailer should be inspected first if it hasn't moved for several years and get a inspection sticker on it , they are very strict on this now

and check there ( transport co ) bonding before you agree to anything .

Go to a dealer car auction. Look at the names on the trucks, make a call. They are hauling new cars so the have ins. It might take a few calls to find the guy that will haul inops. The right guy can get 9 or 10 cars on the trailer. They work cheap for full loads.

The big problem is that the cars don't run. It's gotta be real tough and slow going to winch an inoperable car onto a multi-car transport. I hope they all have wheels and roll.

I'd seek out an independent trucker and hire him by the day and provide a small crew to help load/unload.

It's gonna cost a bit, but if you can afford 30 vintage Vettes, you can afford the freight.

If the cars do not run,i would hire a couple of guys and a tow truck to be there when the cars are being loaded, put the runners on top and at the front,if you timed it right it wouldn't take to long to load a trailer with 7-8 cars.Same when they get where they are going,if you can afford 30 cars, this shouldn't be a problem, will take some planning but is doable,The car haulers hate cars that wont run,but this way you could make it easier, also pay the driver for his down time.I would take to the driver-owner of the truck and explain it out first,if you call a broker they will likely hang up on you. i was just about to say first thing is someone needs to make sure they all have tires up and roll freely at the least. inop is gonna be one h***el, but if the driver gets there and half of them have flat tires, locked up brakes, etc they either aren't going on the trailer(s) or your price is gonna go up real fast and real UP. having someone on each end to make sure they can go on and off as easy and inop's can go on and off is gonna put this in a much better light with a hauler.

if i had a hauling rig i'd love to say i could help but i don't. i can help either on the pick and/or drop off end as i'm doing pick up work right now and as long as i don't have something inline on the dates am open and looking for side jobs. probably also have an available second hand 3-4 day out of a week to. just shoot me a message if i can help in any way....ken....

The amount that would cost it'd be worth buying or borrowing a fifth wheel F-350 or similar and buying a 5 car trailer and do it yourself. You could then sell the truck/trailer again afterwards at a loss, but you'd probably save thousands.

Summer did not say where in Ga. these cars were hiding. I picked Macon. Macon to Charlotte is 289 miles. A $5.00/ mile that would be about $1500 for 4.5 hour on the road. I am guessing that would be about the rate for a truck hauling 10 cars would be.

Now as to loading them. The driver would charge you something for the day to load If he has some help on each end to help load it should take less than a day for rollers. Off is no problem for rollers as a car carrier should be able to tilt each car to the ramp.

So 2 days for each load equals a weeks work should net the truck about $5000.

So I wonder if Summershow ever shipped those Corvettes? I could spend a long time studying that collection.
