  2. It may be repairable but you will probably have to replace the roof.

Shoot us a picture or two.

Yep, cut a good roof off a like body style Falcon or Comet and use that. May not be what you want to hear, but is likely the most effective, actually easiest, complete repair.

This is a tricky area to repair. Normally there are at least three layers of metal that come together in this area and to uns***ch the spot welds is a difficult task - its not impossible but you need to strip the hood lining out of the car and clean up all the metal and find the spot weld marks - the gutter is a separate piece of formed metal the sits between the roof lip and the door frame structure. Once the spot welds have been drilled out you can slip the gutter out and replace it with a new piece - you do need some metal forming skills and equipment. As porkn****** says - shoot some pics up and we can see clearer the actual issue

  6. Actually in Missouri it is not legal to repair a roof. It gets done and everyone kind of overlooks it but the State DOT says it is a No no.

If we are talking pin holes it is just a matter of some rust converter a little kitty hair, but if it is major a donor roof is by far the easiest and best repair. The roof is part of the main structure of a car with a roof.

This may help. This is my F100 but you can follow the same procedures. After the target rot is cut out you can slip a piece of cardboard into make a template. Clean (sandblast) any substructure rust you can see and use the popular rust converters everywhere you can-or need to- before you cover it up. Use tiger hair over your welds just in case you have any unseen pinholes. Good luck.....
