i need schooled on torching

    I tried to heat the bolt but there wasn't much left of it that wasn't mushroomed and cut off it was just about even with the top of the wishbone. Ill do some measuring and post what I find out. That splatter literally happened within seconds of when I started to heat it.

    my methods are a little different,heat to a low glow,before it gets red and pour
    water on the bolt.too hot and you change the temper.
    reheat it til the water boils out and cool it again
    three or four times before getting aggressive with the swinging press.

    another is the air hammer and hot water.whilst pouring hot water on the joint i rattle with air hammer.rust turns to brown mud.unlocked many things without torches.

    i think it will be fine. just fill the place where it dripped out with weld and buff it smooth

    best tip i've read about getting those out, is to pull them out - not push them out.
    if you heat the perch it expands, then if you try to push it out while it's hot ( expanded) that just swells out the perch and makes it even harder to get out.
    the solution: build a puller, put some tension on the perch while heating ( expanding) the axle.

    I'm gonna clean and then magnaflux the axle then research how to use filler rods then attempt to fix my mess up. Thanks for everything guys
