OK,I can get my horn to work by placing a screw driver across the wire that comes through the steering shaft,,but I must be missing something on the back side of my horn ring,,I can get my horn to work by placing a screw driver across the wire that runs up through the steering shaft, because when the wheel is mounted and the ring is pressed,,NOTHING Anyone have a exploded view of a horn ring or can you take a photo of yours removed from the wheel that shows the back side? HRP
Danny, Maybe the height of the contact? Is it sticking? Best I can do is scan pages from the factory manual on Monday if it's any help
You have a small socket like piece at the end of the wire with a springy ****on on the end that fits into the end of the steering shaft, correct?
Then you've got a problem with the horn ring. When it installs, there is a spring under it, holding it away from the steering wheel, but touching the spring/ball socket. When you depress the ring, contact is then made to ground through the spring/ball, activating the horn. If the horn doesn't work, there's a problem under the ring.
