Well I want a taildragger look to it, But the sporty fender struts look a lil' short or the fender is to far back. I want to know what you guys think. Comments and ideas welcome.
This isn't a radical change...but I lowered the fender and rotated it clockwise...also stretched it a little bit in the rear also stretched it in the front a tad. Tried to keep the work simple.
Jesse- I gotta quote***** Reynolds here (talking about his harley): "...it looked really cool without the front fender, but the**** end looked kinda dumb with a big long hanging down fender" I'd try mounting the front fender on the back...?
The fender struts catch my eye.Not because of their length, but because the are perfectly straight.Looking from the side, the top of the fender is curved, the bottom of the fender is curved, and right in the middle of the 2 curves is a straight line. How far down the back of the fender goes is a matter of personal taste, but I think the bottom of the fender should follow the edge of the wheel and the fender struts should be curved.Painting the struts to match the fender would help mask the problem, but wouldn't solve it.My .02 FWIW
This fender has the struts on the inside, works well & hides those lines you get with the stock struts.
Greaseball- I'm going to run the stock front fender to, I drilled out the rivets on the front mount and made it alil' lower aswell. I just may make some struts that I'll welded to the inside of the fender for a strut less fender look. the straight struts are from when I had a real short fender on it. That was when I was thinking Chopper, but I'm going to more of a custom kinda look now. -Jesse
Actually 32limey, I'm useing your bike for inspiration. But I'm smoothing off the rear fender(were the tail light went)and using a side mount light. Here is what it might look like

Fender struts that are visible should never be painted or curved! That is just gross. May as well paint it with splash graphics. I think they look fine on the fender, but then I don't really like taildraggers so maybe it'd all look the same to me on that fender. I can't imagine the fender struts looking good if they were longer though.
ever think about mounting the fender to the swing arm?? that way the fender can be mounted as low and thight to the wheel as you want....the fender is going to go up and down with the wheel with a nice clean look.....like a hard tail CT.
Jesse, i laid the shox down too just to get the wheel up in the fender a little more. the other thing i was going to do was use an earlier swing arm & juice brake, that'd make it sit even lower. Too many projects it'll have to stay like it is for now!
This may not be the look you're going for but it's what I did on my last one. FLH front fender on the rear. Actually, we used a fiberglass one, re-enforced it and I used smooth struts that bolted thru fron the back side. I used a 21" wheel up front with a narrow sporty fender.
Donzie, thats kinda what my other fender used to look like. I may rotate it a bit clock wise for now and with no struts would look pretty clean. Limey, I was thinking about useing an early swing arm to, and a drum for the front off a early shovel or late pan. This is how I origonally wanted my bike to look(minus the razor blabes)...
Mr. Greasy, 32LIMEY's bike is an inspiration to me as well, as it is, hands down, the baddest swingarm HD I've ever seen. It will be hard to beat that strutless fender, but you're on the right track. Lower is better and that's what you're after. There is a lot to work with to get the look right, LIMEYs bike set the standard. Keep pics coming.
On some Harleys, the stock swing arm can be installed upside down to lower the rear. The stock shock mounts are offset to the top of the swing arm, turning the swing arm upside down will lower the rear a couple inches.Might not work on all models.
