Projects I need some Super Stock lettering ideas

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Dec 4, 2008.

  1. "That's the spirit". I do know what vinyl is:D. The paint is badly checked in some of the upper surfaces. It loooks good enough to me for now. I love "driver" quality cars. The nicer it is, the less driving and enjoyment I get. I regularly drive my cars to lunch, shopping, to the bank, wherever. To run errands, etc. I drive my Vette, this and my 38 Chevy anywhere I wanna go. I recently bought a very nice 70 RS Camaro to sell, and I don't get a moments rest when I park it somewhere:mad:

  2. I'm going to see Larry next week. So, I'm thinking

Tops of front fenders-389 cu. in. Tri-Power (or 389 Tri-Power)
Tops of rear 1/4's-1960-61 NHRA record holder
    Doors-STUGOTS PONTIAC
    Brooklyn N.Y.
    And somewhere-- S/S

If this is really who his screen name would indicate, I'd have to advise that we should at least pay attention to any of his suggestions concerning sign painting. If he says to try thinning your paint with stale beer, or to stand on your head while lettering, I'm going to try it at least once (or twice) before deciding whether it works for me or not.

As a frustrated, sign-hack wannabe, I say "Welcome to the H.A.M.B., Bob B.!"

Focus, kids, focus.. I'm pretty sure Groucho will not be lettering it himself. I believe his choice of sign painters was clearly stated earlier in the post. I am also very sure that individual is very qualified to perform the job. Now back to the subject at hand... My .02 Groucho, I would definately get the "tri-power" in the lettering. That idea of Stugots Pontiac is awesome and fits you to a tee. My italian wife hasn't stopped laughing since I told her your idea. Me personally, I would avoid the typical Mickey Thompson references. I think M/T was a great man, and this is not a jab at him. I just feel sticking with more the dealer or factory backed stuff is better... Again, just my 2 cents. I don't think you could screw up a car, I haven't seen a car you owned screwed up yet...
