I need some tech help lowering 37 buick special

Hello all I have a 1937 Buick special model 48 2 door. I'm looking to lower the front. I've looked into 2 1\2 lowering uprights made by fatman fab. I looks like its just the same uprights I have with the spindle knuckle welded 2 1\2 inches up higher on the upright the question is can I cut my knuckle off and reweld it up higher on my stock uprights let me know your ideas or if this is even possible thanks.
