    :)

I am known more as a 32 Ford type of fellow but I also have a weak spot for BLACK 40 Ford standard coupes. I sold mine a few years back ... and have always regretted it. :(

I need this one ... but I would have to paint the rims RED ... ;)

The 40 belongs to a friend of mine, who lurks here every now and then ... Check out what's under the hood :D

Only thing that would make it better is if it was a '39 DeLuxe! :D

As I looked at the first pics of the 40 I saw a beautiful black Ford and knew it was special if for no other reason than you don't hold junk in high regard. However, after I looked at the engine I had one of those senior moments; not a lapse of memory, but a pause to look back on the journey of life. I remember the caddillac engines (a**** others) in the fords designed to be moon runners or just sleepers. I could feel myself smiling and happy seeing this Caddy. A contrast to the feeling exhibited by viewers when opening the hood of my last two hot rods. Not that "holy s**t" is a bad emotion, but I much prefer the feeling I got when I saw your engine. Great 40 buddy, I hope you end up with it.

WOW !.....That car is done !.....I should start looking for a 40 coupe, I've got credit I haven't even spent yet !......

I think red wheels would only look good on the car if it was flat black.....;)

As I was scrolling through the pictures, I was thinking, it doesn't need to be chopped, slammed or altered in any way. It's beautiful just as it stands...and then the engine picture came up. The cherry on top! I don't think it can get any better than that.

That coupe is just BEAUTIFUL. Caddy mill is a bonus too. Looks like late model electric choke carbs contrast with the old school generator. Is the inside as perfect as the outside? You're right. Contrasting wheels would make it pop. Hope you land this one!

Those cars weren't built to "pop".

The black on black on black is what makes it such a stunner. Add red wheels & it will look like it needs to be lowered.... Lower it & it will look like every other black '40 street rod with red wheels.

That car is done - already.

I used to have a 50 Ford Coupe with a Caddy mill in it back in the 1950s. I sure regret trading it off for a 56 Chevy. Please, keep the black rims, please. JB

The 40 coupe is not for sale ... :( and I most likely could not afford it anyway.

I just put it up here for others to enjoy it as much as I do. My friend has a few other cars that are HAMB friendly.

He is bringing this 3W back from the dead. He owns the old timey steel orange 3W in the photo also. He also has a nice real deal steel 32 Ford hiboy roadster ... in addition to a couple more 40 Fords.

He lurks here ... so maybe he will post up some of his other treasures. :)
