Projects I need to quit faking it

while i believe wholeheartedly in period looking engine not many car guys are going to mistake a 351 for a y-block

but you could fool me all day long with the 6

 

Not really trying to fool anyone with the 55 just going for a vintage look but with the 37 I am,I cut out alot around the plugs on the 216 side cover so I picked up another so when I find a junk head and block I will get it better. I still have to get a 216 style fuel pump and when I am done the only thing that will give it away to the experts its a 235 is the distributor cap.

 

With the 37 I am trying to mess with the restorers more then anyone else,I have always tried to show them some respect until I started hanging out at a all original or nothing clubs forum and felt their intollerance to anything that did not come from the factory or dealer and then it was war. I kind of wish I originally done a stock restoration on the 37 and then hid the modifications I done to it after realizing a totally stock late 30s vehicle is not for me,the sinister part of me wants to modify a nice original late 30s vehicle and then stick it in a restorers show and let them go nuts trying to figure out what I have done to it.

 

Did they have cloth covered wiring back in 37?

 

I have seriously thought about making a new wiring harness from cloth covered wire to replace the harness I made,my next pre mid 50s project will get cloth covered wire since I know now its being reproduced.

 

I don't get it. A few brewskis make my shit look better.
