Well, like an 'ole dog, some things just follow you home. I don't even have a dog box to put it in, but from the looks of it, it doesn't much matter! haha I mainly bought it for the chassis- even the rails are heavily pitted, however. Honestly, I never knew of a single 32 nearby and this one had been under my nose for years. I don't really have a plan for the body. Just like a stray, I planned on passing the body along to offset the chassis cost, and letting someone else take care of it. But, the 'ole girl is starting to grow on me and @SUHRsc mentioned something about building on old roundy round car out of it. I kind of like that. Besides, my skills aren't there yet to do this thing right in the body work department, and it would be down about 5th on a list of what I'd spend my time and money on. But hey, one rear fender doesn't look too bad! Throw out some things you would do. I don't even know where you'd start on the body...some sort of bracing inner structure...use the frame to be sure it's "square"? EDIT: Funny story, in a way, some thieves knock the body off of some 55 gallon drums in order to steel them.....irony?
Here's a few more shots. I had them in a certain order but I think they got changed around depending on the file name. What in the world are those holes drilled in the rims?
May I be the second to say , "More has been done with Less" How could you not let that ol girl follow you home ! But give here some powder ,she might have bugs !
The rim holes look like old rivet holes, maybe someone was making reversed rims, and never finished the job. Bob
They look like 48 Merc rims that have already been reversed Bob and just have no rivets in that spot. Looking at it sitting on the floor it's a perfect candidate for a sectioned 32 Tudor. Being a 32 there is lots of $$$ there just in parts-Axle,is it a heavy? wishbone, chassis, firewall, K-member plus whatever else you can get from the body.
I wouldn't sell it too short as that firewall appears to be pretty nice and framewise it would have to be pretty rotten to not be saved and as greener 200 said, "More has been done with less".
And THOSE are the things I was wanting for a 32 roadster build...just gathering misc. stuff and saving for a Brookville...
As mentioned, firewall looks good. Frame pits are, well...just pits The channeling leaves a bit to be desired though...
Probably no plans for it right now....may even sell/trade it for parts to build a Brookville 32 roadster this time...
on da west sieeed, bruh In all of my searching, I never came across this one and I don't think I ever heard of it in the lore. It was, however, just a few hundred yards from a 35 coupe I found about 15 years ago (buddy bought it) and bought a bunch of parts off of a the 35 guy...
Most of the patch panels are around 6" tall and they don't care whether you use an inch or the whole thing. One piece at a time....
Nice save....my 32 frame actually came out from under a round round car and it shows.....the old man wanted to keep the rear end cause it was a AA truck with some 5:30 gears ?
It's cool to know there's still some out there hiding. I had a guy tell me he knew where an old Ford delivery truck was, said he found it while he was hunting. Took me to it, 40ish Ford, Dolly Madison still on the sides, but it was in a creek. Wasn't much left.
The Ole Gal lies in waiting for some Hotrod Love...HoHoHo... I can't imagine seeing that desirable a body style still sitting in the wild...nice Find @Flathead Youngin' and thanks for sharing the Vintage Tin...
