I've been around old cars most of my life and have learned not to take off the wall comments too serious, life is too short to not try an educate when possible.

    BTW,,thanks for the comments,both sincere and funny.HRP

Great little sedan, I had the same thing happen with my ole 55 f100 at car show. The guy was a jerk, and he walked away when I asked what he said about my truck and try to explain it. The funny thing he hated giving me the stupid award for the lowest truck at his show. I could have cared less about it , but I was nice to him. Chalked it up to the him being just ignorant.

The POS rat rods have ruined it for everyone who wants to retain the original paint, now the uniformed see one thats not shiny and they think RR.

your '32 is the sedan equivalent of Baskerville's roadster...we lovingly used to call 'em Beaters...

If you ever start thinking about painting it, remember, I have the Guido Bros on speed-dial...

Exact reason I no longer judge shows or attend them for that matter. The cars I was drawn to were more like yours than the Bling things they call rods. I customize old iron every day for my customers, to be honest if it is what the customer likes and want that's good enough for me. But I know what is really under most of those custom rides with "No Bondo"! It kinda of dismantles any critique they may have on a ride like yours... I like your ride and would drive the wheels off of it just the way it is. Park next to the Trailer Queens with pride and when needed start picking theirs apart as if you cared. LOL I have a good customer that hits the B.J. Auction at least once a year usually purchasing 3 to 4 cars at a time. All pretty, but each and everyone has its issues. Id much rather have one like yours where you have a pretty good idea of what you have. What ever its worth? :D

after reading the story on that car earlier on here it could have 3 fenders one of them smashed, no hood , and all the windows cracked and it still wouldnt be a RR. Sometimes the story behind the car can make all the difference in the world. Im ordering a set of 32 rails this week so if you want to get rid of that body ill be glad to come and get it. Have a good day RED

You know your car looks good.
A lot of people call my car a RR, probably a lot of people on this forum would consider it one. It used to bother me a bit, but I just don't care any more what any body thinks of my car.

I saw some printing on a Jeep spare tire cover one time that hit home with me, it said "If I have to explain it to you you wouldn't understand it anyway." That pretty much sums up trying to educate the unwashed public about the history and philosophy behind our hot rods.

At one show I overheard a guy talking to his buddy about the roll bar on my 27 and he said " Look at that, it wouldn't give you any protection at all !" I thought about explaining to him that it wasn't supposed to but rather copy what rodders did in the 50's. I decided to save my breath.

I've also had more than one person comment about how I need to replace the rear tires because they are "bald". One guy said "Boy you really get your milage out of your tires, don't you?" :p

  13. I had the same situation here at the Billetproof N.W. show. Guy was flappin' his lips about this"black pos 65 skylark". Bitched about my paint{gun shot rustoleum},my mexican blankets on the seats, etc. Then I told him it was mine and asked "wheres your 47 year old dailey driver?" He rode down with somebody else.:D

My good man you handled it a lot better then I. Back in the late '90s a guy called my '54 Ford mordoor ( shaved, decked, all trim remover and holes filled and flamed front to back) a POS as I was standing next to my car, let's just say I gave him a real lesson on hot rodding, and then ask him where was his car, "HE says I don't have one" then all my buddies filled him in how to act at a car show.

First off, your sedan looks great as is. Next you handled it like a man. You educated him on the difference between traditional and rat rod. You have to remember, opinons are like assholes, everybody has one.

HRP: Obviously a wanna--be, weekend warrior know nothing....well I better shut up before I start to sound like him. He's like a guy that buys a Harley thinking it will make people think he's a real biker........... a few years of blood sweat and tears and MAYBE he'll get there. Don't take up the offense.....BTW..love the tudor. Tim

I hear it all the time about the paint not matching on my 55 sunliner,I just painted the areas I repaired and at the time thats all I could do due to some health issues popping up. It still has over 50 percent of the original paint and thats the way its going to stay until I get ready to paint it,the people with the high dollar cars just dont have a clue.

each to his own....personally, I don't mind being blown......but you couldn't run fast enough to give me a dodge charger.....and that's just me....I'm sure there are plenty of you who like Chargers.....I'll take the 32 sedan any day over most anything.

I cheated. I read the first page and parts of the last one. I agree with most of what was written. Most of us would not have stayed as calm as you did. Proud of you! And I'd rather drive your POS anyday. In fact I will if you bring it down here. Damned, now I can't stop lookin at your car. Nice!

People are just funny. Remember when Jim Jacobs painted that old timey 28 tub of his with a paint brush ? That was back when other guys were building high dollar rides with mega buck paint jobs. Because it was Jake who did it all of a sudden it was ok with people and they got it, and Jake frankly didn't give a damn because he knew who he is and what he had accomplished in his life.

If Bill Hines built a primered/patina'd custom and drove it do you really think he would care about what other people thought ? I don't think so.:D

I had been thinking about something lately about "The Gospel spreading" on here. Gospel means good news. A lot of people are turned off by religion of sorts due to hypocracy or just by people of a religion just being jerks to them. I know I used to be one of them until I saw the real reason behind the gospel truth. I was turned off by so called religious folks. I see that a lot here with hot rodders. You can't win someone over to your philosophy or ideology by immediately putting them down or belittleing them for being ignorant to the truths that you may hold. That being said I think HRP handled the situation perfectly. You were a good witness for The HAMB

This is a classic reason why pre and post 1965 cars and owners don't mix IMO. Your Tudor looks great just as it is. Bob
