A 40 Ford steering wheel showed up and went straight on the column

    Making a wish......(bone)
I am going to run an unsplit wishbone on my RPU. I was going to use a 32 bone but the perch boss is 2 inches and my axle is 2-1/4 , and if I have to cut up a wishbone it might as well be a less rare and less expensive ModelA instead of a 32. My friend , who is a 32 guy will be able to sleep better knowing that I'm not destroying something precious.
I cleaned up this model a bone and cut it apart. I machined a couple of extensions with spigots on the ends to fit into the tubes. I drilled the tubes for rosette welds and then tigged the perimeter of the tube.
    It turned out good , I think . 20240524_102753.jpg 20240524_102812.jpg 20240524_102940.jpg 20240524_105430.jpg 20240524_105436.jpg
Project seems to be on track....

I put some new boards in the bed. I was given some nice beetle killed pine and I aged it with tea and steel wool and vinegar , then a topcoat of polyurethane. I think it matches the patina. 20250123_092806.jpg 20250124_105800.jpg

I am a slow adapter… I sometimes struggle when I switch late model vehicles and have to adjust to the wiper / headlight/ and turn signal handle location changes. Great progress and results @Jethro !
