+1 on keeping the fenders, but it's yours and hiboys do rule I cant argue that, but your car looks damn nice with fenders!

  7. Looks real fine Larry;), even though I love hiboys, I have to agree with most that the fenders look kool on that car.

Who did you sell the 3 to?

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Oh Yah, if you want to sell the rims, pm me!

Glad to see made it back from Charlotte O.K. I just started another thread on the leaving of the 3-W today. I am still up in the air on the fenders and starting to play with wheel and tire combos. You will be the first to know on the chromies. Merry Christmas to you guys also. Can we still say Merry Christmas, to hell with it I still like it. Larry

Ditch the fenders, and the chromies, and maybe the hood sides... Get a 3x2, some ram's horns, and finned covers, replace the alt with a gen or one of those alt/gen things... Find a set of black wall cheaters and a nice set of 5 spoke mags with skinnies in front.. Get a nice set of gauges... Ditch the column in favor of a 40 style column... Sure could be a cool ride... Oh and if it doesn't have one ya need a 4spd and an Olds rear with some tall gears!!! That's what i'd do if she was mine...

HOLY ****, Are you sure there is nothing else I could do with the car. LOL. P.S. I think it is a cool ride the way it is, but it is not exactly the way I want it. Larry

Brian, Thanks for the kind words, your opinion on the 32 5-W. is important to me. A bonus that came with it is history back to 1972, you would be surprised at some of the people who had a hand in it over the years. I think I am finally happy now, and cant wait to get going on it. Have Merry Christmas and will see you soon. P.S. I p***ed the magazine article you gave me on the 3-W to the new owner. The guy loved it, and the car is going to a GOOD home if it ever gets there. :)

  23. Yeah - it is too nice with the fenders to turn it into another High-Boy. Are they steel? If so, just not that many all steel coupes around. It is hard to finish them like this, might as well keep it together and stand out from the ever popular high-boy crowd.

With that said, I'm a damn hypocrite - my 34 coupe was a full fendered car, I'm going High-Boy :D

    Keep the fenders,,

It looks like my 5-window and yours were built about the same time,,both have the wooden dashes,,yours appears to be the deluxe style while mine is the standard homemade ,,,BOTH ARE UGLY! :D HRP

    Larry,
I didn't get fenders with mine so I didn't have to make that decision. I love the look of a 5W highboy but had I located a complete 32 like yours I probably would have built it with fenders knowing that, at some point, I would turn it into a highboy. Keep us posted on the build and have fun with it.

The cool thing is, you can do both! Keep the fenders in the garage, and switch it up from time to time. It already looks better with the baby moons gone! Just a good cleaning and some gentle gold chain removal and you're golden with or without fenders.

THANK YOU for taking those hubcaps OFF. Good choice on the dash to get it back out of the 80's.

I wish it would stop SNOWING. The good news is I finished the exterior changes on the 5-W and took it out to play in the SNOW. Sorry to all you guys who wanted the fenders to stay, but I like high boys however I kept all the parts and the alterations are not permanent so they could easily be put back on. This is it for now, the interior is next.:cool: Larry
