Nice thread! Here's my sedan (in process) with 6" taken out of the fenders. I took 2" out of the tail light mounts as well. image.jpg

Can I post an out of the box question without offending anyone? On Model A Coupe and Roadster rear fenders the shape is the same more or less the same back to front. Why not unbolt the fender, roll it forward to get the rear lip were you like it and redrill the mounting holes? On a highboy you'd just cut off the front at the bottom of the body line. The full fendered cars would get the front trimmed and welded back on. Bob

  3. That's the way you bob an old harley rear fender.
The more you roll it, the more the rear angle changes from verticals towards horizontal. There's a pretty big flat spot that's being removed

While looking for pix of bobbed rear fenders I came across this thread. Yes; I know it's ancient.

Vergil's pix only show up as red X's for me. Does anyone have the original pix saved that could repost?

Here's an old article on how to do it - but it is kind of a hack. They chop off the end and resculpt the bead with lead. Scan-210309-0001.jpg

I was perusing this very post a couple of months ago. I also couldn't see the pix so I sent a PM to Vergil on 3/8/21 asking if he would repost. Then I looked at his profile and saw that he hasn't been on here since 7/24/20. So he's not going to see your response OR my PM 'til he logs in again.

He's in Tehachapi, California, which is about 30 miles outside Bakersfield. Surely there's someone on here who knows him. Maybe that person(s) would be willing to contact him.

I also sure would like to see his pix.
